Opposites attract, and it is absolutely right when these two completely contrasting personalities, Kajol and Ajay Devgn are mentioned. While he is very introvert, not so talkative, content and decent, Kajol, on the other hand, is extremely silly, fun-loving, talkative to another level and what not. This happily married couple is complete opposites of each other but that has never stopped them from being by one other’s side all throughout their almost 2-decade long marital life.
Recently, Kajol could be seen dropping lots of truth bombs on Neha Dhupia’s chat show, No Filter Neha. Neha has been sharing short trailers on her official Instagram handle and one amongst others was that with Kajol. There is no denying the fact that the Helicopter Eela actor seems to have kept it real when she had a conversation with Neha on the show.
In the trailer that Neha posted, Kajol shared an interesting incident with Ajay. She shared that she once hung up on Ajay Devgn, who had called her for the invitation of her sister’s marriage. In the 40-sec long video, Kajol awkwardly admitted being a little weird with Ajay on that phone call. Kajol said that Ajay called her in the morning and she was a bit sleepy. When he said, “Hi, is this Kajol?” Kajol, she hung up the call saying, “No, this is Sridevi, wrong number”. Here’s the video, checkout:
Also, for the ones who missed out on our last story related to Kajol and the chat show, Kajol also revealed the reason why no one wanted her to marry Ajay. Revealing the reason, Kajol was quoted as saying, “Nobody wanted us to get married besides his family and my family. My family also was iffy. My dad didn’t talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married. It was because I wanted to get married.”
She further added, "He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well and I was like but I want to get married. Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together.”
Not just this, she also went on to talk about that thing which helped them survive their wedding. Kajol shared, “We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids. It’s almost like we have become like one person who has these two children like their arms”.
In an interview earlier, Kajol Devgan spoke about the secret behind her successful marriage and what is going wrong with today’s generation. She retorted, "I think we're losing tolerance (and no, it's not an intolerance remark btw) it's about losing patience. We're just losing willingness to go that little bit far ahead or to give people their second chance." And further went on to add, “We don't give any benefit of a doubt to our partner anymore. Today, we're just waiting for the person to make a mistake so that we can pounce on him and tell, 'hey now I am one up there. Now you see.' I think marriages and relationships cannot be like that if they have to be successful!"
The Fanaa actress also revealed the secret behind her rock-solid marriage with Ajay and gushed, "I think our relationship has worked only because I speak a lot and he quietly listens. So, the secret to our happy married life is that Ajay doesn't say much. And that we're best of friends." In another media interaction, Kajol gave an epic reply as to why she tied the knot at the peak of her career. She remarked, “It was the right thing for me to do at that point of time. I had been already working for around eight and a half to nine years. So, I was ready to kind of calm down on my work front and kind of take it easier. I was doing four to five films a year. I didn't want to do only that and to only live like that. That wasn't what I had set out for. So, I assumed that I would get married and do one film a year. I'll be happier and be more settled."
Talking about where they met for the first time, Ajay told Pinkvilla, “On a set. It's a very boring story. Actually, there is no story. I was the quiet one. She thought I was a snob. At first, we would hardly talk, but gradually started talking, and that's how it began.” Adding further, he said, “There was no proposal! We became friends, and then realised we are seeing each other. One day, we decided to get married. I didn't want to make a big issue out of my marriage. So, I came out of my bedroom, got married on my terrace, went back to my bedroom!”
