Kajol has hit the silver screens again with her latest movie named, Helicopter Eela. Kajol is not only celebrating the fairly good response she is getting for her new movie, but she is also celebrating 20 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for which she also attended an event yesterday (on October 16, 2018). Apart from this, Kajol recently appeared on Neha Dhupia’s chat show, No Filter Neha. Kajol appeared as a guest on the second episode of the show, where she got candid about her kids not liking her movies and Karan Johar’s mini heart attack moment. What raised our eyebrows the most amongst everything she said was the fact that no one was happy about her wedding with Ajay Devgn, not even her dad. Kajol has always been quite guarded and tight-lipped about her personal life. Sharing the detail that nobody wanted her and Ajay to get married, she said, “Nobody wanted us to get married besides his family and my family. My family also was iffy. My dad didn’t talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married. It was because I wanted to get married.”
She further added, "He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well and I was like but I want to get married. Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together.”
Opening up about the real reason behind surviving their marriage, Kajol remarked, “We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids. It’s almost like we have become like one person who has these two children like their arms”. Talking further, Kajol even went on to share that her children don’t like her movies and they want her to opt for some happy movies like Golmaal. She shared, “Both my children don’t like my movies. They don’t watch my movies. According to them, I cry too much in my films and I don’t do happy films so hence and therefore I should do more films like Golmaal.”
Not just this, she also added that her 15-year-old daughter, Nysa is very critical of her. Kajol retorted, “According to her (Nysa), there are very few things I look good in. Her taste is very classic so anything that is a little quirky or the things that I like – is a little quirky or a little loud. She is like why you can’t watch this film quietly or why can’t you enjoy this film quietly, why do you have to cry, scream, clap or laugh.” (Also Check: Kajol And Ajay Devgn's Love Story Proves That Opposites Do Attract And Can Make The Best Couple)
In an interview earlier, she was asked why she chose to tie the knot at the peak of her career, wherein she gave an epic answer and said, “It was the right thing for me to do at that point of time. I had been already working for around eight and a half to nine years. So, I was ready to kind of calm down on my work front and kind of take it easier.” She further added, "I was doing four to five films a year. I didn't want to do only that and to only live like that. That wasn't what I had set out for. So, I assumed that I would get married and do one film a year. I'll be happier and be more settled."
Kajol, we love you for you are fun, vivacious and giggly. Much love and more power to you!
