Kajol, during a recent press conference, spoke about the pay disparity between male and female actors in the film industry. However, she also took a dig at her best friend, Shah Rukh Khan.
Kajol’s friendship with Shah Rukh Khan is popularly known in the entire Hindi film industry. The duo have been co-stars in a number of films, including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham and others. While their sizzling chemistry on-screen is incomparable, they share an unbeatable friendship in their real life as well. In fact, they can be called best friends for life, as they have been with each other through thick and thin, and are now like extended families for one another.
Kajol recently attended the Jagran Film Festival in New Delhi, and had a live interaction with the audience and media personnel. During the same, she addressed the constantly raised issue of pay disparity between male and female actors in the film industry. Speaking along the same lines, Kajol expressed her views, which interestingly included a subtle dig at her best-friend, Shah Rukh Khan’s last released film, Pathaan. She could be heard as saying:
“When you start making a ‘Wonder Woman’ for India and it does equally well as a ‘Pathaan’, then maybe there will be pay equality.”

In one of her earlier interviews with Mashable India, Kajol recalled shooting the song, Jaati Hoon Main, from the film, Karan Arjun opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She mentioned how at that point of time, she was totally drained out, and felt like resembling a horse in her outfits for the song sequence. Moreover, she also added how it was difficult for her to control her laugh, since the song was in a sensuous mood. She revealed how SRK boosted her confidence and helped her finish the scene. In her words:
“Shah Rukh was giving me courage to just finish the song. Dancing was the easy part, not laughing out loud at it (the song) was the difficult part. There are places in this (song) where I look like a horse. And he is like, ‘Shut up, just do it, get over with it.’ He has always been like that, making me laugh all the time.”
In yet another of her earlier interviews with The Hindu, Kajol had heaped praises on Shah Rukh Khan, and revealed that he was the easiest co-star to work with. She mentioned how he was totally understanding in nature, and ensured that people working with him were at ease and were comfortable during the entire shooting schedule.

In one of her recent interviews with Kamiya Jani, Kajol revealed some unheard, behind-the-scene secrets of shooting the iconic pose with Shah Rukh Khan for the film, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. She revealed that although the poster featured a happy moment where SRK carried Kajol on his shoulders, back in reality, it actually ended up giving him a frozen shoulder for the next couple of days.
