Once in an interview with a digital media portal, Kajol had opened up about her views on gender equality and had shared her take on how she treats her daughter, Nysa and son, Yug equally.
Indian actress, Kajol never shies away from stating her views and remarks on almost everything. No matter how different she thinks about something than most people, she always puts her thoughts with a fearsome attitude. Kajol had got married to her co-star-turned-lover, Ajay Devgn, on February 24, 1999, and the couple had embraced parenthood after four years of their wedding, in 2003. Post welcoming their daughter, Nysa Devgan, in their lives, Kajol and Ajay had become parents for the second time when seven years later, their son, Yug Devgan had entered their lives.
The doting mother, Kajol never misses a chance to shower her immense love, care and admiration on her children, Nysa Devgan and Yug Devgan. Time and again, we have seen the actress crediting her children for transforming her into a better version of herself.

Once in an interview with a media portal, Kajol had opened up about her parenting skills and how she treats her children, Yug Devgan and Nysa Devgan. The doting mother had revealed that she always treats her son and daughter equally as she believes in gender equality. Kajol emphasised the importance of gender equality in today's society because it's completely unfair to burden a particular gender with some specific tasks or duties. The actress had explained her point quite brilliantly, as she had stated that it's not a woman's duty only to learn how to cook. Thus it's not just the duty of a man to earn money.
She had said:
Agar aap apne bete ko sikha rahe ho ki bade hoke tujhe job karna hain, tumhe kamai karni hain, tumhe aapni zindagi ka kuch karna hain. Aap apni beti ko vo kyu nahi sikha rahe. Aur agar aap apni beti ko khana pakana sikha rahe ho toh apne bete ko kyu nahi sikha rahe. I mean dono cheezein jo hoti hai dono ke leye he jaruri hain. Jaisey ghar sambhalna sirf ek aurat ki responsibility nahi hoti, vaisey he kamana bhi sirf ek aadmi ki responsibility nahin ho sakti.”
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Kajol had reminisced the phase when she had conceived her firstborn, Nysa Devgan. Kajol had recalled, "When I became a mum, my first thought was that I just could not fail. I knew that this was one test I was going to ace and one exam I was going to top because this really was a question of life and a wasted life." Admitting that it was soon when she had realised that motherhood is no cakewalk, Kajol had continued:
"It took me at least six months to realise that I couldn't do it alone and I would need everyone with me to help bring up my kids."

Going further in the interview, Kajol had also revealed that she firmly believes that her daughter, Nysa Devgan and her son, Yug Devgan have positively impacted the person and the actor in her. Revealing why her children haven't watched too many of her films, Kajol had remarked:
"My children make me want to be a better person and sometimes a more fun one. Being a mum added a lot to who I was and it has only made me a better actor. Both my kids love to watch films but haven't seen many of mine. Firstly, because I haven't made that many and secondly, according to them, I cry too much and I make them cry too much, so it's heavy going."
Well, we are absolutely in love with Kajol's parenting and the way she treats her son, Yug and daughter, Nysa, equally!
