Kalpana Raghavendar recently shared a video after her alleged suicide attempt and opened up about the reports speculating about her differences with her husband and daughter. Here's what she said.
Singer, Kalpana Raghavendar is one of the most admired Tamil and Telugu film industry singers. Recently, her fans were left in shock after Kalpana was found unconscious in her villa and reports alleged that she tried to end her life with an overdose of sleeping pills. At the same time, multiple news portals and fan pages alleged that she was having differences with her husband and daughter, which made her take a drastic step. However, putting a full stop to all the speculations, Kalpana shared her first video after the incident.
Kalpana Raghavendar recently shared a video clarifying all the speculations surrounding her health. She spoke in Tamil and revealed that she is recording a video to clarify to everyone speculating that she has issues with her husband. The singer revealed that she is presently pursuing PhD, LLB and other courses. At the same time, she is focused on her music career, which has resulted in sleep issues. In her words:
"Due to higher stress levels, I have been struggling with sleep issues for the past few years. When I visited the doctor, they said that I had insomnia issues and prescribed tablets. On that particular day, I took extra tablets, which caused a lung infection, and I went into an unconscious state."
She credited her husband for saving her life and revealed that despite not being in the city, he coordinated everything for her and ensured she had everything she needed. At the same time, he was the one who dealt with the media, police and the hospital team. She said:
"He was out of the city and took the help of the police to save me. He coordinated with them, the ambulance and the media at the right time to rescue me and take me to the hospital. I survived. Please don't believe any rumours."
Moreover, she clarified that the news reports suggesting that she has been dealing with personal issues are wrong. Rather, she is getting better, and her husband, Prasad Prabhakar and wonderful daughter, Daya Prasad, are caring for her. She again emphasised that fans shouldn't believe any rumours. Kalpana concluded the video by adding that she will soon resume her work and entertain fans with her music.
Before Kalpana Raghavendar's video, her daughter, Daya Prasad, opened up about her incident at a press conference at the Holistic Hospital. She confirmed that her parents were doing well together, and her mother had been busy with her academic and career endeavours, which caused insomnia. At the same time, she urged fans not to spread any rumours. She said:
"Please do not manipulate any information. Our family is perfectly fine. My mom and dad are happy. I am happy. Everybody is perfectly fine in my family."
Kalpana Raghavendar was found unconscious at her home after she didn't pick up her husband's calls, who alerted the security at their villa. The police personnel rushed to the scene and took her to hospital, where she was allegedly put on a ventilator. She regained consciousness hours later. Kalpana is the daughter of playback singer, TS Raghavendra. She began singing at age five and made her playback singing debut in 1999 with Mangala Gouriki from Manoharam. The singer has participated in and judged several reality shows, and some of her popular tracks include Poda Poda Punnaku, Premante Suluvu Kadhura, Joole Joole, Dikkulu Choodaku and Pogiren.
