Love knocked on the doors of Kamya's heart on an ordinary day in 2018 when she called him for the first time for a piece of medical advice, without knowing that he is the key to her happiness. And that was the start of their beautiful love story. A couple of weeks ago, Kamya had shared a long note for her fiance, Shalabh on her Instagram handle. She had reminisced the day they had first talked on a call and had written, "Last year, this day I spoke to you for the first time and today I am preparing for my marriage with you. Last year, this day I was broken, I was lonely. You picked up the pieces and made me the happy person that I am today. I am so lucky to have someone like you in my life who's the only motive is to make me smile and happy. you are my life, you are my good karma, you are my Gannu's best gift to me. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for loving me so much. Thank you for this beautiful one year... looking forward to a lifetime with you. I love you @shalabhdang."
On February 8, 2020, Kamya and Shalabh got engaged in a Gurudwara in front of the close family and friends in attendance. The actress took to her Instagram handle and shared happy pictures from the beautiful day and captioned it as "#shubhmangalkasha #sagai @theglamweddingofficial @shalabhdang." She donned a golden kurti and teamed it with a black sharar.a and yellow dupatta. Her look was completed with statement earrings, and curly hairs. On the other hand, Shalabh opt for a blue kurta paired with white pants and matching blue bandhgala jacket.

On February 5, 2020, Kamya had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a picture from the first pre-wedding function of her wedding i.e. Mata Ki Chowki. The actress had opted for a rani pink saree with orange border and teamed it with a contrasting orange blouse. The look was completed with a choker neckpiece and matching jhumkis. Along with the picture, Kamya had written, "And the celebration of #ShubhMangalKasha begins. Jai Mata Di #matakichowki @shalabhdang".
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Kamya had revealed that she is head-over-heels in love with Shalabh and life is different with him. She had further shared that she has understood the meaning of blushing and glowing in love and is looking forward to spending her entire life with him. Kamya had also shared that there have been times when people have wondered what made Shalabh accept her and her daughter. She had said, "When people tell me ‘oh, he (Shalabh) is ready to accept you, that’s so nice’, I feel like ‘excuse me, what do you mean by ready to accept?’ Just because I’m divorced and a single parent, does that mean I lack something or I’m not good enough?"
