Kangana Ranaut revealed why she called Ayushmann Khurrana 'chaploos outsider' and her reason to criticise star kids in the industry.
Kangana Ranaut is one of the most fearless and talented actresses in Bollywood. She has always dominated the headlines with an impressive line of work and inspiring journey. As an industry outsider, the actress has always advocated against inequality and wrong practices. However, her outspoken nature and unfiltered approach have often made Kangana, a centre of controversies. Amid criticising other actors, Kangana once called actor, Ayushmann Khurrana a 'chaploos outsider'. In a new interview, she revealed the reason behind the same.
Kangana has been on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Emergency and has left no stone unturned in the quest. She recently appeared in an episode of Aap Ki Adalat. During the conversation, she was asked different kinds of difficult questions, and the host, Rajat Sharma, asked Kangana about her statements on other actors.
Among other statements, he asked Kangana about the reason behind tagging Ayushmann Khurrana a 'chaploos outsider'. In her reply, Kangana revealed that he was the one who attacked her first by criticising her. However, when he wasn't yet successful in the initial phase of his career, he called her his role model. In addition, the actress mentioned that Ayushmann wanted to impress someone to get work, so he criticised her. She was quoted as saying:
"He was the one who attacked me. Earlier, when he wasn't successful, he called me a role model in an interview. Then, when he started getting work, he attacked me. He wanted to flatter somebody to get work. In this great 'virtuous, holy' industry, nobody has a problem with anybody, only I am the problem."
In the same conversation, the actress discussed her issues with star kids in Bollywood. Kangana mentioned that she compared the star kids to boiled eggs to highlight her hard work for her upcoming film, Emergency, which is much more than they do. The actress shared that star kids go to gyms and get botox treatments while she prepares for her role by working hard on streets under the sun. In her words:
"People want to see actors who have been out on the streets, among people, in the sun. I had to take ageing treatment for the role of Indira Gandhi. But these star kids go to the gym for every role, and take botox treatment. Honestly, I am not criticising. I am just saying go out in the sun. But what do they do? They come out of their car and say, 'Hi I want this, I want that.' 40-year-old star kids or 30-35-year-old girls wear pink glasses and act like children."
On the work front, Kangana was last seen in the Hindi film, Tejas, playing the titular role of an air force pilot. The film didn't perform well at the box office. In 2024, she contested the general elections and became the MP from Mandi constituency. She will next be seen in her highly-anticipated film, Emergency. Kangana also has an untitled Tamil-Hindi psychological thriller film in her kitty.
