Kangana Ranaut is back in the headlines after Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor won Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. The 'Dhakkad' actress took a dig at the celebrity couple.
The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards ceremony was held in Mumbai on February 20, 2023. The much-awaited results are out, and while there are some surprises, most of them are quite predictable. The award for Best Film was given to Vivek Agnihotri’s Kashmir Files, while Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. Alia Bhatt also took home the Best Actress Award for her exceptional performance as ‘Gangubai’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The entire internet rejoiced for B-town’s lovely couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who won the awards. However, there was one renowned celebrity, who was not quite happy with the results, and it was renowned actress, Kangana Ranaut. The talented actress didn’t like the results announced at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony. Known for making fearless statements in the media, Kangana posted two tweets on Twitter in which she shared her thoughts on Ranbir, Alia, and others winning awards at the ceremony.

In her tweet, Kangana Ranaut clearly stated that South Indian actor, Rishab Shetty and gorgeous actress, Mrunal Thakur deserved to win the Best Actor and Best Actress awards at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony. The actress added that Rishabh and Mrunal’s performances in Kantara and Sita Raman respectively were worth the win. The actress also added that nepotism has snatched awards from deserving actors again. Her tweet can be read as:
"Awards season is here and nepo mafia is at it again, snatching all awards from the deserving talent. Here’s a list of some of those who displayed volcanic artistic brilliance and owned 2022. Best Actor -Rishab Shetty (Kantara), Best Actress-Mrunal Thakur (Sita Raman), (Cont)."
Further, in another tweet, Kangana Ranaut also shared she picked Anupam Kher as the Best Supporting Actor for Kashmir Files and named Tabu as Best Supporting Actress for her work in Drishyam and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the fact that Kangana disapproved of the decision to give the Best Director Award to Vivek Agnihotri for Kashmir Files. The actress felt otherwise and admitted that SS Rajamouli was the rightful winner of the award for his film, RRR. Kangana also added that Bollywood awards ceremonies are a complete sham. Her tweet can be read as:
"Best director- SS Rajamouli (RRR), Best supporting actor- Anupam Kher (Kashmir Files), Best supporting actress- Tabu ( Drishyam/Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2), Bolly awards are a big sham … when I get some time from my schedule I will make a list of all those I feel are deserving … thanks."

Kangana shared a screengrab of the article on her Instagram stories and wrote a small note in which she lashed out at the publication for calling her jealous. Her note can be read as:
"Jealous of changu mangus nepo pappus jinko aaj bhi mummy papa diapers pehnate hai… ha ha… try better PR next time."
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in the film, Emergency.
