At the same time, Kapil gave work opportunities to many of his friends like Rajiv Thakur. The latter recently impressed fans by playing a negative role in the IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack web series. In a new interview, Rajiv shared how Kapil Sharma played an important role in his success.
Rajiv Thakur is one of Kapil Sharma's closest friends. The comedian, who always made people laugh, surprised fans when he portrayed a negative role in the popular web series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Recently, Rajiv sat down for an interview with India Today and shared that he was about to leave the web series, and his shooting dates for it clashed with his tour scheduled with Kapil Sharma in the US.
Rajiv went on to share that Kapil Sharma solved the situation for him. He explained that when Kapil learned about the series and its scheduling issues, he postponed his US tour to ensure Rajiv could shoot for the web series. The latter then thanked Kapil for the same. In his words:
"It's all thanks to Kapil that I managed to do the show. The series team asked for my dates in June last year, which were already with him for our America tour. This is why I decided to say no, but when Kapil learned about it, he encouraged me to take up IC 814. He told me, 'Tu series kar, hum show push kar denge. And that's how our show was postponed to July. I had already committed to him, so I would have rejected the show, but he pushed me, and I am thankful for that. This is what true friends do, isn't it?"
In the same interview, Rajiv shared Kapil Sharma's reaction to his performance. He explained that Archana Puran Singh was happy with his work and felt he got his long-due credit for the series. On the other hand, Kapil Sharma texted him immediately in the morning after he had watched the series late at night and expressed his happiness for Rajiv, which further made the latter feel more content. He was quoted as saying:
"Archana ji was so happy, saying that my credit was long due. And when she watched the show she also posted a long note about us. I remember Kapil also watched the show late at night after a shoot and immediately messaged Anubhav sir. He called me the first thing the next morning and he sounded so happy and proud. I think this makes me so much happier."
On the work front, Rajiv began his career on TV with Comedy Circus in 2008. He debuted in Punjabi films with Lakh Pardesi Hoiye in the same year. He went on to do several Punjabi films and TV shows like Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo, The Kapil Sharma Show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, and more. He was last seen in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.
