Karan Johar recently got involved in the ongoing feud between 'Savi's' Divya Khossla Kumar and 'Jigra's' Alia Bhatt. Now, Karan and Divya are lashing out at each other via cryptic Instagram stories.
Alia Bhatt and Divya Khossla Kumar have been immersed in controversy ever since the latter’s film, Jigra hit theatres on October 11, 2024. According to Divya, Alia’s latest film is a rip-off of her film, Savi, which was released in May of the same year. She then took things a step further with a direct attack on Alia through an Instagram story. And Alia’s Godfather, Karan Johar, couldn’t sit back in silence as he lashed out with a cryptic story of his own.
Mere hours after Divya had posted the story attacking Alia, Karan Johar responded with a cryptic post of his own. Unable to hold back, he shared a story that underlined the importance of silence. However, it is worth noting that the post did not address anyone in particular. The caption on his story could be read as:
“Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools.”
For the unversed, Divya Khossla Kumar took to her Instagram story not too long ago with a direct attack on Alia. In the story, an empty theatre could be seen with Jigra playing on the big screen. Divya also wrote a lengthy caption on it that alleged Jigra’s collection numbers were being faked. Her caption read:
“Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty … all theaters going empty every where. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra”
The feud between Karan Johar and Divya Khossla Kumar seems to be heating up as she responded to him on Instagram not long ago. In less than two hours since Karan posted his cryptic story, Divya has shared two of her own. And while the stories may not address anyone specifically, there is barely any confusion about who they are aimed at.
Divya’s first story is a quote emphasizing that the truth is only offensive to fools who oppose it. The word “fools” in the story sticks out, especially as Karan’s cryptic post used the same word. In her second story, Divya wrote:
“When you are shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice no spine.”
