The growing up phase of your child is one of the best feelings in the world. Experiencing the firsts of everything with them, from their first smile and their first words to their first steps, first food and their first day at school; every parent wishes to seize that time. B-town’s ace director, Karan Johar is experiencing the same joys with his twin babies, Yash Johar and Roohi Johar. It is rightly said that time flies! Seems like just yesterday, Karan announced the arrival of his two little munchkins and shared the first glimpse of them. And now, these little munchkins have turned 2-year-old and are all set for their first day at school. Yes, Karan shared an Insta story wherein Yash and Roohi are dressed with their bags on shoulders, ready for the first day at school. Here’s the picture:
In a recent conversation on Myth Of Masculinity at the recently concluded edition of 'We The Women' by Barkha Dutt, Karan Johar got candid about how he doesn’t want his kids’ lives to be defined by these stereotypes of being a boy or a girl. Karan informed that he would never want his twins, Yash and Roohi to live their lives according to the stereotypes of masculinity and femininity. He was quoted as saying, “If my girl wants to wear shorts, she shouldn’t be called a tomboy; she should be called sporty. I would not say things like, a girl must wear pink! No. My son likes pink, let him wear pink.”
In a throwback interview, when Karan was asked if one year as a father has changed him, he replied, “Well, it hasn't changed me, it just made me happier. If that's a change, then that's a welcome change. I’m just happier and much more satisfied with my existence. It's given me a big reason to live with a certain amount of energy and vigour for the next three decades of my life. I can't wait to see my children grow up around me, with me and for me.”
On March 30, 2018, Karan shared an emotional moment when he had a mini-meltdown because of his daughter, Roohi. Karan had tweeted, “She said “Papa”! It’s time for my mini-meltdown!” Isn’t this aww-dorable? The best and the most special moment for any father in this world is when his child calls him ‘papa’. Earlier there were reports that Karan might take a sabbatical from his work to spend some quality time with his twin tiny tots, Yash Johar and Roohi Johar. Refuting such rumours, Karan stated, "My babies are beautiful, and I have all the time in the world for them. They’re my lifelines and the reason for me to go into the 2.0 version of my life. But work is also a big part of who I am, and creating Dharma Productions, and taking it to a higher level is pretty much a big dream I have."
On March 08, 2018 i.e. the International Women’s Day, Karan shared a heartfelt message for his daughter, Roohi. He wrote, “I was raised by a woman who had a strong mind, an independent mind and a solid soul. She taught me how to live a fearless life along with a strong sense of right and wrong! She also taught me the art of abandon! She made me the man I am, a man who is honoured to be raised by a woman of substance! Roohi my darling I hope I raise you to be just like your grandmother.”
Speaking about his mom, Hiroo Johar and the relationship she shares with her grandchildren, Yash and Roohi, Karan stated to a media house earlier, “My mom is a mother-cum-grandparent-cum-obsessive-grandparent. She’s in their nursery 24x7. It’s come to a point that she’s become their official nanny/nurse. She’s a helicopter grandma and she does everything amazingly. I’m the supervisor who gets all the information on them.” (Also Read: Neha Dhupia Shares The Cutest Pic Of Hubby Angad Bedi Sleeping With Daughter Mehr On His Tummy)
