Karan Johar’s twins, Yash and Roohi turned 3 on January 7, 2020. The ace filmmaker took to his social media handle and penned a note of gratitude for his mother, Hiroo Johar.
Mothers are the only support system of our lives on whom we depend blindly. Whether it is giving permission for the school trip or secretly giving extra pocket money, our mothers make sure to go to any extent for us. In the times when relationships are taken for granted, she is the only constant whose existence can never be questioned. Karan Johar’s love for his parents, Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar is remarkable and a proof of the same is seen in the names of his twins, Yash and Roohi. He has kept his father’s name for his son and Roohi's name is the anagram of his mother, Hiroo's name. Karan's father, Yash Johar always wanted his son to be an actor and was even ready to launch him but fate had something better for him. Often regarded as the Godfather of Bollywood, who has launched many debutants in the industry, Karan is not only a renowned name in the glamour world but is someone, who is a complete family man. On February 7, 2020, Karan Johar shared a heartfelt note for his mother, Hiroo Johar. He took to his Instagram handle and shared a family picture and a couple of other pictures on the third birthday of his twins. Along with the picture, he penned an emotional note and expressed his gratitude towards his mother, Hiroo ji for co-parenting his twins. His note can be read as “I am a single parent in social status...but in actuality am definitely not....my mother so beautifully and emotionally co-parents our babies with me...I could never have taken such a big decision without her solid support...the twins turn 3 today and our feeling of being blessed continues with renewed vigour with every passing year...I thank the universe for completing us with Roohi and Yash.”
On June 9, 2018, Hiroo Johar had turned storyteller to the little munchkins. One of Hiroo Johar's friends, Pammi Bakshi Gautam had taken to her Instagram page to share the video and had captioned it, "Hirrrrrooooooo you convent educated Grand Mother reading stories to Yash and Roohi from the year 1935!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t stop laughing Yash’s reaction, in the end, is fabbbbbb he’s snatched the book and thrown it away." On March 18, 2018, when Hiroo Johar had turned 75, her son, Karan Johar had taken to Instagram to wish his mother with a collage of their pictures. Along with the pictures, he had written, “Centre of my universe and the big love of my life!!! My mom is 75 today!!!” For the very first time, Karan had posted a family portrait of him sharing the frame with Hiroo ji, Yash and Roohi. Hiroo ji could be seen holding her grandchildren, Roohi Johar and Yash Johar in her lap and Karan had captioned the picture as, "My family!" On March 8, 2018, i.e. International Women’s Day, Karan Johar had shared a heartfelt message wishing to raise Roohi just like her grandmother. He had said, “I was raised by a woman who had a strong mind, an independent mind and a solid soul. She taught me how to live a fearless life along with a strong sense of right and wrong! She also taught me the art of abandon! She made me the man I am, a man who is honoured to be raised by a woman of substance! Roohi my darling I hope I raise you to be just like your grandmother.” In an interview with Pinkvilla, Karan had shared that he is living the best phase of his life. He had stated, “I am in a very content phase of life. Actually no, content would be a wrong word. It would mean I am satisfied or when you get too comfortable. But I believe I am in a very exciting phase. I am very energized. I am also in a deeply emotional zone in my life and I mean it with the birth of my children who've really come like a sunshine. Just waking after them and watching them sleep at night are the two highlights of my day. They have changed the whole aura around me.
