India’s most popular Bollywood talk show, Koffee with Karan is all set to make a comeback with its sixth season. The first episode will be premiered on October 21, 2018, on Hotstar and Star World. Ever since the promo of the sixth season was unveiled, fans have been right on their toes to know who would be the guests on the first episode, and now we know it. Karan Johar took to his social media handles and released a montage of snippets from the first episode, which he rightfully called ‘girl power’. Yes, two leading actress, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone would be the part of KwK season 6’s first episode. Karan captioned the video as, “Girl power in the KOFFEE house!!! Fun and games are about to begin! #koffeewithkaran from the 21st of October on @starworldindia at 9 pm! @hotstar @deepikapadukone @aliaabhatt”.
Now, before you see the video, it must be mentioned here that when we think of Alia and Deepika, the one name that automatically pops into our head is Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika and Ranbir were once head-over-heels in love with each other, and it’s been almost a decade since their break-up, and now Ranbir is dating Alia. Naturally, the elephant in the room had to be discussed on Koffee with Karan. When Karan addressed the common factor of Ranbir by saying, “Having been in a relationship with Ranbir, Alia is in one, right now”, Deepika interrupted him and wittily exclaimed, “Don’t try and make it awkward, because it was not”. Did you see the end part of the above video? It’s fun, right? When Karan asked Alia and Deepika about who do they think would get married first, both the girls pointed at each other. And then, Karan and Alia, together, called it a lie. For context, it must be highlighted here that Deepika’s wedding rumours with her beau, Ranveer Singh has been rife for more than 6 months now. Ranbir and Alia have been dating for a few months now since Ayan Mukerji’s film, Brahmastra went down the floors. In a GQ interview earlier, Ranbir confirmed his relationship with Alia by saying, “It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is- what’s the right word- flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring too, for myself”.
In fact, a source close to the couple recently revealed to a media portal, “Alia is in a great phase of her life right now. She is in love and they both are sure of each other. Marriage is certainly on the cards but it won't happen before 2020”.
And because it’s Koffee with Karan that we are talking about, Alia has always been vocal about her love and admiration for Ranbir on the chat show. She once said, sitting on the couch, “Obviously, I have hung out with him after that, and I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him." And further added, “Everybody knows my plans. I have gone on record and I have said it. I'm very open about it except to Ranbir”.
And when we talk about Deepika and Ranbir, we all know how messed up their break-up was when Deepika had alleged that he cheated on her and was quoted as saying, “The first time he cheated on me, I thought there was something wrong with the relationship, or me. But when someone makes a habit of it, you know the problem lies with him. I give a lot in relationships, and don't really expect much in return. But, infidelity is the deal breaker. Once it comes in, respect goes away, trust goes away and these are the pillars of a relationship you can't f**k around with it”. But all that’s buried in the past becomes history. And today, Alia, Deepika, Ranbir and Ranveer, all the four have a great genuine camaraderie between each other.
