Karan Mehra wants his and Nisha Rawal's divorce proceedings to go public like the Hollywood couple, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
One of the most loved couples in the television industry, Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal shocked everyone when they unveiled the ugly side of their married life. Their image of a happy family was shattered on May 31, 2021, when Karan was arrested after Nisha's complaint of domestic violence.
From Nisha accusing Karan of an extramarital affair to Karan talking about Nisha being bipolar and blaming her for infidelity, the once ideal couple is leaving no stone unturned to wash their dirty linen in public. And now, in a recent interview, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor wishes to have a live trial just like the Hollywood couple, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

In a recent interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, Karan Mehra was asked whether he would like his divorce trial to be streamed live. The actor stated that he has no qualms about it as he has nothing to hide. In his words:
“It doesn't happen in India. This is some area that I never explored but now that I have been in the system for so long--- cases, drafting, lawyers, some things I have learned. So, this system doesn't exist here where you can do a live trial. I would love to, because I have nothing to hide. I say that I have attached 1500 pages, and I have written each one of them myself. And this is after I had no other means, there was no paper from home that I could collect.”
In a press conference by Nisha Rawal, the actress talked in detail about the numerous allegations levied upon her by Karan. Responding to Karan’s accusation that she was having an affair with her rakhi brother, Rohit Satia, Nisha had shared:
“I am a peace-loving person and want him to live in peace. I want to focus on my work now. Tamaasha banta jaa raha hai. I am not playing the sympathy card or the woman’s card. Karan is, in fact, playing the sympathy card.”

In the same conversation, Nisha also responded to Karan’s claim about alimony, and had said:
“When we met in 2008, he was working as an assistant stylist for a film, in which I was the heroine. Mudda kabhi paise ka tha hi nahi. We built everything together. He bagged the TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai two years after meeting me. I have not asked for alimony — we have only asked for maintenance for the child. I have also said that if Karan doesn’t want to pay that, too, I am fine. In fact, in his new counter-petition, Karan has asked for full custody and wants me to pay maintenance for him and the child.”
We hope both Nisha and Karan sort out their issues amicably!
