Karan Singh Grover, the one who made every girl go weak on her knees and our hearts flutter with his oh-so-charming looks, opened up about facing depression in his life on World Mental Health Day.
Every year on October 10, World Mental Health Day is observed and despite the stigma around the 2 words and 12 letters – ‘Mental Health’ from which the society has been running away from centuries, people nowadays are open to seeking help and talking to their close ones. ‘Sab theek ho jayega’ used to tend to sweep the mental issues under the rug but with more and more people coming forward to share their stories, it has helped to foster a more sensitised society. Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Hazel Keech, Shaheen Bhatt, Manisha Koirala, Shama Sikander, Honey Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda, Ileana D'Cruz, Varun Dhawan amongst other B-town celebs have helped in destigmatising ‘mental health’ issues. Karan Singh Grover, the one who made every girl go weak on her knees and our hearts flutter with his oh-so-charming looks, also opened up about facing depression in his life on World Mental Health Day. Before revealing more details on the same, let us give you a recap of his personal and professional life. Even though Karan was out of sight and out of mind for 6 years from television after 2012, he made a comeback as the intense and powerful businessman, Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. Karan came a long way in his professional journey and in personal life too, he is enjoying his ‘monkey love’ with wife, Bipasha Basu Singh Grover.
Karan Singh Grover was a part of a panel discussing mental health at an event and he was asked if at any point, during his low phase perhaps, he felt a need to talk it out or faced mental health conditions. Karan shared, “There is a reason why I want to talk about mental health. Because I have lived it. Depression can be caused because of many reasons and the root needs to be identified. It has been a difficult journey, maybe not for me but for my loved ones because I got great help and support from them. Bipasha was there. It is something that we need to speak about.”
Karan Singh Grover continued, “It is something that we need to accept and it is something we need to let go. It is very essential that everyone speaks about it. We all go through it at some level or the other, running into things, trying to make money, and all the stress that causes a lot of pressure in our minds which is not supposed to be there. This is not life, there is a lot more to it.” (Also Read: Jaya Bachchan's Reaction When Amitabh Bachchan Was Declared 'Clinically Dead' After Coolie Accident)
As soon as Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu Singh Grover had tied the knot in 2016, the speculations about the ‘monkey lovers’ embracing parenthood have been doing the rounds in the media. Revealing that they are not planning to introduce a third member in their family anytime soon, Karan had stated, "We definitely want a baby in future but it’s not happening right now. Parenting is a special feeling and we both would love to experience it for sure." Karan had further added, "Before I become a father I think I have a lot of growing up to do. It’s not my forte, I mean growing up, I actually don’t understand what it means. (Laughs) So I don’t think I have the maturity yet. Having a child is no joke, I have to take proper responsibility for another life. If it happens now then Bipasha will have to deal with two kids at home."
It has been three years since Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu became each other’s forever and were pronounced husband and wife. Revealing how they keep the romance alive, Karan had said, “By telling each other how much we love each other as many times as we can.” To which, Bipasha had added, “Yes, it’s necessary to tell your partner that he or she is important in your life. We make each other feel special. That’s how you can keep the romance alive. You should never take your partner for granted.”
When asked in the same interview with the DNA, “What is the one thing that has remained constant over the last three years?” Bipasha Basu Singh Grover had retorted, “Our love for each other is not just constant, but also growing every day. Respect for each other is the other. Start your foundation on the basis of respect for the human being that you are. Respect the person you are falling in love with.” And Karan Singh Grover had replied, “We are quite crazy. We both love food. That’s a kind of constant — our love for each other and food.” To which Bipasha had interrupted, “That’s a lie! You were never a foodie before you met me.” Karan had said, “Being married to you for three years now, I am one.” Bipasha agreed and said, “Well, yes, then both of us are foodies now!” (Also Read: Rekha's Controversial Statements On Relationship With Amitabh Bachchan And Their Tragic Love Story)
