As Randhir Kapoor turned a year older, Kareena Kapoor dropped adorable pictures of her son, Jehangir with his 'nana ji' to wish the veteran actor.
Randhir Kapoor is one of the most talented gems of Indian cinema. Son of the greatest showman, Raj Kapoor, Randhir has carved an irreplaceable era in Hindi cinema, back during the 60s, 70s and 80s decades. While through his works, he has indeed kept alive the illustrious legacy of his father, nevertheless, Randhir has also marked his own charismatic personality throughout his career. For the unversed, Randhir, a.k.a, ‘Dabboo’ got married to talented actress, Babita. The duo are proud parents to their daughters and A-listed actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor.
On February 15, 2024, Randhir Kapoor turned a year older, and his daughter, Kareena Kapoor Khan, couldn’t stop to drop a heartfelt birthday wish for her darling daddy. The diva dropped two adorable snapshots of her father, who could be seen getting a tight hug from his youngest grandson, Jehangir Ali Khan. The little boy hugged his nana cutely, while his mommy took the candid picture. Along with the note, Kareena penned a beautiful birthday wish, that can be read as:
“The HUG of life… Happy Birthday Nana and to my Papa… #i am like my father.”

Not just Kareena, but Karisma Kapoor also dropped a heartfelt birthday wish for her father, Randhir Kapoor. Taking to her IG handle, the actress shared an unseen, throwback childhood picture of herself with her father. The then-baby ‘Lolo’ stuck her tongue out goofily, while she sported two cutesy piggy tales. Randhir could be seen hugging her, while flaunting a million-dollar smile to the camera. Along with the picture, Karisma penned a caption, that can be read as:
“Happy birthday to my handsome, funniest, charming and kind Papa. PS - Fashion game on point.”
Despite being a third-generation actor from an illustrious film family, both the sisters, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor have carved their own stardom in the film industry. Previously, while speaking at The Indian Express’s Adda event, Kareena credited her father, Randhir Kapoor for helping her and Karisma to break the prevalent taboo of the women in the Kapoor family not stepping in the film industry. She had said:
“I think my father has been one of the coolest fathers ever. It was difficult during Karisma’s time because she was one of the first Kapoor girls but… not to ever say that my father didn’t support her and not to ever say… Even now, if he calls me and he knows I’m shooting, he will be apologetic that ‘oh no, okay, focus on your work’. He’s extremely cosmopolitan, extremely open-minded, he’s always he has just been so nice about everything. My father has been way ahead of his times."

Despite being a well-seasoned actor and delivering hits at the box-office, Randhir Kapoor’s career stumped in the 1980s, when his films stopped working and he was put out of work. Naturally, it made a heavy impact on his family, especially since his daughters, Kareena and Karisma, were very young then. Moreover, his wife, Babita, who also was an actress before marriage, was no longer in the industry, respecting the norms of the Kapoor family. In an earlier interview with Mid-Day, Kareena reminisced that time of her life and revealed:
“I was too young, he didn’t work as much and maybe that’s why my mom had to take on stuff and figure out odds and ends to bring up the girls till Karisma came into the movies. But my father did some work, he directed two-three films."
Happy Birthday, Randhir Kapoor!
