Kareena has consciously stayed away from social media and flaunting her life on it. On the other hand, her sister, Karisma Kapoor is a fashionista on social media, who religiously updates fans about her life.
Recently, in a chat show, The Love Laugh Live Show, Kareena opened up on the advice she gave her sister, Karisma for her daughter, Samaira. She shared, "My sister has a 14-year-old and she is also constantly on social media like Snapchat and everything else. All that goes on all day. I told Lolo that it has to be limited. Because then it is just about you're sitting there and that's all you're doing. You're not reading a book, you're not looking out of the window, you're not conversing with anyone, you're not spending time with family, friends, nothing. We're losing the essence of even a nice chat. It is important to limit social media." (Also Read: 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' Co-stars, Aly Goni And Jasmin Bhasin Spotted On A Lunch Date Together)
In a 2018 interview with the Deccan Chronicle, Kareena had revealed why she stays away from social media. She had said, "It’s not that I shy away from it due to the trolling — I don’t. Social media is all about self-publicity. It’s about making oneself look good by posting pictures or making oneself seem intelligent by giving an opinion on something. It doesn’t go too well with me. I am a private person and I prefer personal interactions much more than public ones. It’s more important for me to connect with a person face-to-face than put up pictures with someone."
In another interview, Kareena had said, "Despite not being active or even present on social media, I am still all over it. I don’t need to put out anything more about my life. On the other hand, some people are active on social media, yet no one is interested in them. I am a private person and would never share pictures and videos of myself or my family on my own."
