In the month of August 2020, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had announced the news of expecting baby number 2 with an official statement that could be read as "We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting an addition to our family!! Thank you to all our well wishers for all their love and support.” Since then, the netizens are waiting for their second child, however, their love for baby Tim is still the same. As the B-town is currently dealing with the nepotism debate, and the star kids are facing the brunt of it, in a conversation with Anupama Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan talked about Taimur’s future in Bollywood.
In an interview with film critic, Anupama Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up on the nepotism debate and how it is wrong to assume that Taimur will be a big movie star, just because his parents are. Sharing how she wants Tim to do what he wants to do, Kareena shared, “I think everyone gets what they deserve in their lives, what is there in their destiny. Yeh nahi hai ki Taimur Ali Khan is going to become the biggest star in this country. He’s not. He’s probably the most photographed child in this country, for whatever reason, I have no clue. I will also wish for my son that he be self-sufficient and self-reliant. I am like you do what you want to do in life. You want to be a chef somewhere, a pilot, whatever you want to do. I want him to fly and be happy in his life. And it’s not necessary that because he has successful parents, he will be successful. His journey is going to start when he wants to start. He has to find his own path. His parents are not going to help him in whatever way.”
She further shared that her parents did not help her to make it big in Bollywood, and she was initially known as Karisma Kapoor’s sister. She revealed that she had to make her own way in the industry and thus, she doesn’t know if Taimur will be a big star or not. She added, “So all this nepotism ki ye hoga woh hoga, Taimur star banega.... arre we also don’t know.”
Kareena had graced The Love Laugh Live Show, where she had talked about her son, Taimur, and the sweetest thing he says when she leaves for work. She had said, "He says the sweetest thing every day when I have to go to work. 'Amma, don't go.' It just breaks your heart. Sometimes, I just have to slip out without saying bye to him."
