Kareena Kapoor once addressed the affair rumours surrounding her and Hrithik Roshan and asked why she'd ever want another woman's man. She also shared her thoughts on her frequent co-star.
Bollywood actor, Hrithik Roshan and actress, Kareena Kapoor ruled the 2000s as a fan-favourite on-screen pairing. The couple's sizzling chemistry in films like Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum, and Yaadein left fans mesmerised and eagerly anticipating more performances from them. However, like any other popular on-screen pairing, Kareena and Hrithik were plagued with dating rumours, despite the latter already being married to Sussanne Khan. Kareena, who had earlier rejected the idea of ever dating a married man, addressed the unfounded gossip once again.
Kareena Kapoor sat down for a candid chat with Free Press Journal, during which she opened up about being just as shocked about her and Hrithik Roshan's affair rumours as everyone else. The actress revealed that she was completely clueless about the news as she was out of town. However, when she returned, everyone started questioning her about it. Kareena firmly stated that Hrithik, who was then married to Sussanne Khan, would never make such a mistake.
Speaking about herself, Kareena questioned why she would even want another woman's man, especially when she liked and respected that woman. Further revealing that she was selfish when it came to her partners, Kareena said:
"I read what he (Hrithik) had to say in your interview. It was very well put. It was all so strange. I was out of the country. When I came back, everyone started questioning me about it. I was very shocked. Hrithik is committed elsewhere. He's a very sensible boy. He'd never slip up. Please! Sussanne knows me too well. She knows exactly the kind of person I am. Why would I want another woman's man, and that too a woman I like and respect? That way, I'm very selfish. I want a man I can keep for myself. And I won't share my man with anybody."
For the uninitiated, Kareena Kapoor was referring to the interview in which Hrithik addressed the reports about him coochie-cooing her on a plane. The actor firmly rubbished the rumours, stating that even if he was having an affair with the actress, he wouldn't be stupid enough to be so public about it when he was getting married soon. Kareena also shared her views on the reports, which were published on the day of Hrithik's wedding. She stated that she, too, wouldn't be stupid enough to do something like that in public, and she added that the timing of the publication was 'in very bad taste.' Had it come earlier, they might have been able to laugh it off as 'idle gossip.'
When the interviewer asked Kareena Kapoor yet again if all the reports about her and Hrithik Roshan were untrue, she strongly stated that they had nothing but a 'good, clean friendship.' She further elaborated that as Hrithik was now married, nothing could ever blossom between them. In Kareena's words:
"He's attached elsewhere, and I refuse to share my man with another woman. He's happily married now. And I'm not a homebreaker. I can never be. We haven't been brought up to cause havoc in other people's homes. Besides, I wouldn't want another woman's curse on my head. I know what that could do to a woman. But all said and done, Hrithik is a wonderful boy. I don't enjoy working with anyone as much as I do with him."
Kareena then stated that Hrithik was like a 'sweet kid' to her, and she couldn't ever imagine him cheating on the love of his life. According to the actress, even if she did catch him doing such a thing, she would personally 'forbid' him.
Earlier, an old video of Narayana Murthy surfaced, in which he was seen bashing Kareena Kapoor Khan for the way she treated her fans. The clip showed the business tycoon talking about an incident wherein the actress had ignored her fans' greetings on a flight. According to him, he had chatted with everyone who came up to him whereas Kareena wouldn't even react when some spoke to her. Later, Hrithik Roshan's now ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, took a dig at her by commenting 'well said' on the video.
