In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor opened up about how her mother, Babita Kapoor, took responsibility after her father, Randhir Kapoor's career stumped.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. She belongs to the first family of Hindi cinema aka iconic Kapoor Khandaan. Born to Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor, Kareena is the younger daughter of Karisma Kapoor. Despite hailing from an illustrious family, Bebo's mother, Babita stayed loyal to her humble roots and gave her daughters the best upbringing. Now, in an interview, Kareena opened up about how her mom instilled a sense of financial responsibility and humility in her kids.
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about her mother, Babita Kapoor’s influence on her upbringing and shared how the latter kept her kids humble. She recalled how her mom kept telling her to get a job, long before she marked her Bollywood debut. Revealing the reason behind the same, Kareena shared that her mom wanted her to have money before becoming an actress and added:
“I don’t really remember whether money was important growing up, but it was always important to get nice clothes. But I wasn’t working and my mom kept telling me to get a job. She told me prepare myself if I want to be an actor and take on the challenge. ‘When you become an actor have your money,’ she told me."

Speaking along the same lines, Kareena Kapoor revealed that her mother always told her to be financially stable as she couldn't rely on her parents. She recalled that her life was all about meeting the bare necessities in her teens because that's what her mom taught her. Talking about her nana, Hari Shivdasani's influence on her mother. Bebo said:
"She has always told me to stand on my feet and that I can’t rely on my parents. Even in my teens, it was about bare necessities, basics. That’s how mom was, she came from a humble background. My nana, Hari Shivdasani, was a character actor and my grandmother was English. She never really did a job. So, mom was very humble. Till today she keeps us in check.”
Kareena’s father, Randhir Kapoor is a well-known figure in the film industry, who worked in memorable films like Raampur Ka Lakshman, Jawani Diwani, Hamrahi, Haath Ki Safai, Mama Bhanja, Heeralal Pannalal and many others. However, he faced challenges in his career back in the 1980s, which impacted his family. When Kareena was asked about the same, she said:
“I was too young, he didn’t work as much and maybe that’s why my mom had to take on stuff and figure out odds and ends to bring up the girls till Karisma came into the movies. But my father did some work, he directed two-three films."

Reflecting on her father's acting career, Kareena mentioned that he was more about loving and living life. She compared her qualities with that of Randhir and mentioned that she has got her dad's personality. Heaping praises on Randhir's friendly and warm nature, Bebo said:
"He also had a sporadic kind of career. He was more about loving and living life and a lot of that is my personality. He is funny, warm, social. He likes meeting people. Hundreds of people meet him and not one will have anything wrong to say about my father because that’s just his nature. He is such a loved person and I think he gave time to all of that side of life.”
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor has projects like The Crew and Singham Again in her pipeline.
