Kareena Kapoor once rejected a blockbuster film opposite Shah Rukh Khan as she was busy shooting for another film. Deets inside!
Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the highest-paid Bollywood actresses. In her career spanning almost 25 years, the actress has starred in many blockbuster movies. Bebo has given some hit films like 3 Idiots, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Golmaal Returns, Jab We Met and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, among others. However, not many know that Kareena has also rejected some commercially successful films.
According to a report in The Times of India, Kareena Kapoor Khan almost starred in the film, Chennai Express, but she opted out at the last moment. The movie went on to earn Rs. 423 crore at the global box office. If reports are to be believed, Rohit Shetty approached Kareena before Deepika Padukone to play 'Meenamma' in the film, but she passed on the offer due to her prior work commitments.
Another report in DNA India stated that Kareena Kapoor Khan once revealed that Rohit Shetty wanted her to work with him in the film, Chennai Express. However, back then, she was busy shooting for another film, Talaash, alongside Aamir Khan. So, Deepika Padukone was offered the role with Shah Rukh Khan. For the unversed, Talaash became one of the highest-grossing films in India in 2012, earning Rs 174.21 crore at the box office. Moreover, Bebo’s performance in the psychological crime thriller was highly appreciated.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about her marriage with her husband, Saif Ali Khan, and shared how they make it work so well. She mentioned that both of them love their work and have fun together. They have a passion for travel and adventure, which makes their bond more special. In Kareena's words:
“Saif is always a bundle of fun, even though he might come across as serious. We both love our work, but we also enjoy having fun together. We share a passion for travel and adventure. I think I’ve brought a sense of spontaneity and joy into his life. Our time together is filled with our mutual love for adventure.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan's latest film was The Buckingham Murders, which was released in theatres on September 13, 2024. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the crime thriller also stars Keith Allen and celebrity chef, Ranveer Brar in the lead roles. Apart from it, Kareena will also reunite with Rohit Shetty for the film, Singham Again, in which she plays the role of Ajay Devgn, aka 'DCP Bajirao Singham's wife. The action film is slated for a release on Diwali 2024.
