Once, in an old conversation with news reporters, Kareena Kapoor Khan called her late grandfather, Raj Kapoor, 'biased' towards her sister, Karisma Kapoor and shared the reason behind it.
The Kapoor family is often termed as the 'First film family of India', courtesy of the fact that the five generations of 'The Kapoors' have been associated with the Hindi film industry. For the unversed, it all started with Basheshwarnath Kapoor, who did a cameo in his grandson, Raj Kapoor's film, Awara. It was Basheshwarnath's son, Prithviraj Kapoor, who is among the founding figures of Hindi cinema. The legendary actor gave birth to three sons, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor.
The three brothers not only ruled the Hindi film industry but are also one of the most successful actors in the history of Hindi cinema. While Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor ruled the silver screens with their acting skills, it was Raj Kapoor who also excelled as a filmmaker and producer. The next generation of stars from the Kapoor family, who made a name for themselves in the film industry, included Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor.

It's fair to say that out of the three men, it was Rishi Kapoor, whose success was not a match for his brothers. Just when everyone thought that the benchmark set up by Rishi Kapoor would not be surpassed, his son, Ranbir Kapoor entered into the scene with his cousins, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, proving why their family is called the 'first family of the film industry'.
The Kapoors are also known for their close-knit family that never misses a chance to back each other. However, once in an old interview, it was Kareena, who jokingly revealed that her late grandfather, Raj Kapoor was a bit biased towards her sister, Karisma Kapoor. It was back in March 2012 when Kareena joined her father, Randhir Kapoor, for the unveiling of her grandfather, Raj Kapoor's specially designed brass statue. It was when she recalled the memories she made with the iconic actor and director.
After sharing a lot of memorable moments with her dadu, Raj Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan jokingly admitted that her grandfather was biased towards her sister, Karisma Kapoor. Sharing the reason behind it, Bebo revealed that Karisma had blue eyes, similar to their grandfather's. However, she had her father, Randhir Kapoor's green eyes. The actress further shared that Raj Kapoor used to give her one mango during the summer season, while he gave two mangoes to Karisma because he was biased towards her. She had said:
"My grandfather Raj Kapoor was biased towards Karisma because both of them had blue eyes. I have green eyes as that of my father. During summer seasons he would give two mangoes to Karisma and I would end up getting just one. I had to work hard to please him."

The revelation left the news reporters laughing, and it was indeed a lovely anecdote that threw more light on Raj Kapoor's beautiful bond with his grandkids. However, at the end of her statement, Kareena Kapoor Khan credited her father, Randhir Kapoor and dadu, Raj Kapoor for all the success she had achieved in her career. She said:
"I am short of words, what more would I ask for. My father and my grandfather had made me who I am. Which girl has got this opportunity guys."
