At a recent event, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about teaching the value of respect and equality to her boys, Taimur and Jehangir.
Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan is a hands-on mother to her two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. The actress was recently appointed UNICEF National Ambassador of India and attended a UN event in Delhi on May 4, 2024. Bebo emphasised the fact that how difficult it is to make children understand respect and equality among individuals.
During the UN event, Kareena Kapoor opened up about some anecdotes of her personal life and revealed that her kids, Taimur and Jehangir had a holiday and they wanted to be there with her. However, the actress had to fulfil her professional commitments, so her elder one started complaining. So, being a doting mommy, Bebo told him that though her work was also important, she would surely give him more time once she was back. She revealed:
"I feel that boys who see not just their father, but also their mothers work, have some sort of respect for the fact that I can also be busy. Today they had a holiday and wanted me to be home but I told them I have to go to work. Taimur was like, 'You are always going to Delhi and Dubai for work, I want to be with you'. I told him that work is important too and I promise to come back and give you more time so that he doesn't feel neglected in any way."

The 43-year-old actress further mentioned that her son, Taimur is aware that both his parents are working and bringing food to the table. She also pointed out how her elder son respects the fact that his parents have an equality factor between them and shared that she wants him to inculcate the same values. In her words:
"Somehow, he will respect the fact that Abba goes to work and comes home and the same goes for Amma. He understands the equality factor that both my parents are working. That somehow allows a lot of space for respect. I want him to grow up knowing that we are equals in this house."
Kareena further added that she and her husband, Saif Ali Khan are always mindful as parents while having a conversation in front of their kids, Taimur and Jehangir. Talking about the same, the actress revealed that Saif always tells her that they should talk to each other with love because kids pick up habits from their parents. She added:
"Moreover, they pick up habits from how parents talk to each other. Saif always tells me that we talk to each other with love and therefore our children will talk to each other and others with love. He is very particular about the fact that they are watching and learning from observation. That's also how I try to inculcate respect in both my boys."

Earlier, during her appearance on The Ranveer Show, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about raising her sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan. The actress admitted that she finds it difficult to deal with Taimur and Jeh as they have been fighting a lot lately. She added that she and Saif spend most of their time resolving their kids' fights and said that their daily routine is about pulling the kids apart. Bebo said that Taimur, being the older sibling, bullies Jeh but the latter also doesn’t bow down to him. When Kareena was asked what she keeps telling her boys, she said that she finds it so difficult to understand what is going on at her home. The actress revealed that both her boys are strong individuals and never back down from a fight
