A Pakistani actor recently revealed that the Indian actress, Kareena Kapoor was roped in for a Lollywood film, but she could not do it. Later, Kareena was replaced by Mahira Khan.
Art has no boundaries, and this has been proven time and again when artists from across the India-Pakistan border were seen in projects of the other country. To date, Pakistani artists like Atif Aslam, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, and many more, have contributed to the Indian film industry. Moreover, several Indian celebrities have also taken part in Pakistani projects. Recently, Pakistani singer-turned-actor, Haroon Shahid made a startling revelation.
During an interaction in the show, Green Hai Life, Haroon was initially talking about his professional life. While opening up about his acting debut with the 2017 Pakistani film, Verna, the actor revealed that this film was initially offered to the acclaimed Indian actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan, but she could not do it as she was expecting her first child back then. Talking along the same lines, Haroon said:
“Isme Kareena bhi hongi film mein, maine kaha ‘accha’. The film, which I did, woh originally, Kareena Kapoor was supposed to do. Then she got married and was expecting.”

Haroon then went on to say that as Kareena could not do the film, it was then offered to the Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan. For those who don’t know, Verna was directed by Shoaib Mansoor, and Haroon and Mahira were the leads of the film. The story revolves around the lead couple, whose life falls apart when the woman gets abducted and sexually harassed by a powerful politician in their area. But the woman does not give up easily and decides to fight back.
Back in 2015, reports went viral claiming that Kareena Kapoor was roped in for the Shoaib Mansoor directorial. A report by India.com claimed that Kareena’s spokesperson had confirmed the same and even revealed that the Pakistani director had e-mailed her the concept of the film.

Further, the report mentioned that Kareena wanted to listen to the script from Shoaib Mansoor first and then confirm it. Later on, in 2016, the Indian actress rubbished off all such rumours and clearly stated that she was not doing any film in Pakistani. As quoted by Indian Express, Kareena had said:
“That’s not true. I am not doing any Pakistani film.”
