Karisma Kapoor lauds her darling sister, Kareena Kapoor for being a strong person and revealed how the latter would always remain like her first child.
Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are one of the most-loved sister duos in Bollywood. Being the granddaughters of eminent actor, Raj Kapoor, both the divas have carved an impressionable career in films. Despite an age gap of six years, Bebo and Lolo are no less than BFFs, and have always got each other’s backs no matter what. Moreover, their frequent social media post featuring one another speaks volumes about the kind of equation Karisma and Kareena share.
Recently, while speaking at an event hosted by the Ladies Study Group in Kolkata, Karisma Kapoor highlighted the kind of unbreakable equation she shares with her darling sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan even today. Lolo remarked how Bebo would always remain her first baby, as she has literally seen her grow up before her eyes. Crediting how Kareena had a very strong personality even as a child, Karisma said:
“She has a strong personality; as a child also, she knew what she wanted, but to me, she’ll always be my first baby."

Speaking along the same lines, Karisma Kapoor then talked about the persons whom she has always considered her idol. She spoke about her grandfather and legend, Raj Kapoor, who has always been her inspiration. Moreover, she also candidly spoke about her sister, Kareena, whose inner strength has been inspirational for her. In her words:
“My grandfather’s personality, his work, and his life behind the camera was very inspirational. I also look up to Bebo as an idol because she is extremely strong. She worked through both her pregnancies.”
In another segment of the interview, Karisma Kapoor recalled the difficult choice she made in her life, when she took a sabbatical from films after getting married to Sanjay Kapur in 2003. For the unversed, the couple, who got divorced in 2016, are blessed with a daughter, Samaira and a son, Kiaan. Talking about making that difficult decision to choose family over career at a time when she was at her highest. Karisma revealed she felt privileged enough to select a side. Adding how she didn’t want to miss out on those special moments to see her children grow up, Karisma said:
“I took a break out of choice. I was privileged to make that choice. I didn’t want to miss out on those moments for both of our children. After you have a baby, life is still not over; you are amazing and fantastic.”

In the concluding segment of the interview, Karisma Kapoor discussed the changes she has witnessed over the years in Indian cinema, especially when it concerns women. She mentioned how during her initial phase of career, she had to walk kilometres away from the shooting sets just to be able to use washrooms. However, she acknowledged the better availability of resources for women in work now, highlighting how every need of theirs gets fulfilled. Moreover, Karisma explained how women in cinema from any age group have now found an equitable representation on celluloid, and women-centric films being the norm.
