Karisma Kapoor had once revealed how during their honeymoon, her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur had tried to auction her to his friends.
One of the leading actresses of the 90s, Karisma Kapoor was born with a silver spoon in the reputed Kapoor khandaan. However, even after hailing from a family of superstars, Karisma had faced a lot to make her mark in Bollywood. Karisma is the first Kapoor daughter, who had dared to break all the rules and had joined Bollywood at the tender age of 17.
Although Karisma broke all the stereotypes in her professional life, her personal life was never a bed of roses. Post her alleged dating rumours with Ajay Devgn and broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma had tied the knot with a Delhi-based businessman, Sunjay Kapur in 2003. Ten years later, Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur had decided to end their marriage and it had resulted in an ugly battle of divorce.

After a lot of accusations on one another, Karisma and Sunjay were granted divorce in 2016. During the divorce proceedings, Sunjay and Karisma did a lot of mudslingings and had shared shocking revelations about their marriage. In her divorce plea, Karisma had accused Sunjay of abusing her physically.
In her plea, the Raja Hindustani actress had also revealed a disturbing incident from their Honeymoon. Opening about the same, Karisma had shared that Sunjay had tried to auction her and had even forced her to sleep with his friends. And when she had refused to do so, he had beaten her mercilessly and had even quoted her price to one of his friends.

The actress, who had fallen victim to domestic violence right from the very beginning of her marriage had also stated that Sunjay had once asked his mother to slap her. Karisma had mentioned that during her pregnancy, when she was unable to fit into a dress, which her mother-in-law had wanted her to wear, Sunjay had asked his mother to slap her.
Reportedly, it was on her mother, Babita's continuous insistence that Karisma had married Sunjay. In a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times, Karisma's father, Randhir Kapoor had revealed that he had never wanted his daughter to marry Sunjay Kapur. He was quoted as saying,
"Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don't need to run after anyone's money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives. Sunjay is a third-class man. I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He has debauchery in his system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this."
After their divorce, Karisma Kapoor was given custody of their children, Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Raj Kapoor, while Sunjay Kapur was granted occasional visits.
