Abhishek Bachchan wanted his wife to stay with his parents at their family home, Jalsa. However, Karisma Kapoor was reportedly against it, while Aishwarya Rai welcomed the idea with open arms.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are one of the most loved couples in B-Town. Of late, rumours are rife that the duo is reportedly heading for a divorce, and that Aishwarya has moved out of her in-laws' house, Jalsa. Amid all this, an old report has surfaced online, wherein it was revealed what attracted Abhishek to get married to the ever-so-gorgeous Aishwarya instead of Karisma Kapoor.
Back in 2018, Abhishek Bachchan and his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, bought a new swanky apartment spread over 5,500 square feet worth Rs. 21 crores in Mumbai. Soon, the buzz started that the duo might move out of Amitabh Bachchan's house, where the Bachchan family has been staying for over two decades. However, a source close to the couple ended the speculations about the same, and in an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, stated that Aishwarya and Abhishek would not move into their swish space. The source said:
"Abhishek is way too close to his parents to even think about moving out."

The source further added that Aishwarya Rai was more than comfortable living with her in-laws at their family home. Speaking along the same lines, the source stated that this was something that Abhishek admired in his wife, as the latter had an affinity with her parents. The source was quoted as saying:
"One of the things that drew Abhishek to Aishwarya was her affinity to her parents."
Putting an end to the rumours about Aishwarya and Abhishek moving away from Jalsa, the source added Aishwarya has never really wanted to move out. Moreover, the report also stated that when Abhishek was engaged to Karisma Kapoor in 2002, the latter wanted him to move out of his parents' home, which made the actor call off their marriage. However, with Aishwarya, the case was entirely opposite. The source revealed:
"When he was engaged to Karisma Kapoor in 2002, the relationship came apart mainly because she wanted him to move out of his parents' home and live separately after marriage. She understands what it means to be close emotionally and physically to your parents, and she never demanded a home away from Jalsa."

As soon as the old report resurfaced online, amid the ongoing reports of the troubles in Aishwarya and Abhishek's paradise, netizens reacted to the same. Taking to the comment section, one user penned, "This article seems to paint Karisma as demanding, when having your own place with your husband is a pretty bare minimum request. Joint families rarely work out. But I mean Abhishek seems set on his own values so both should have found their own match." Another commented, "At this level - just buying a new place doesn't mean someone is going to move in there, investment is a major chunk of their spend anyhow."
For the unversed, Aishwarya Rai tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, and they are blessed with a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
