Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's relationship has been the talk of the town for long. Earlier, in 2014, when they had broken up, things weren't fine. But today, they share an amicable bond!
Relationships, linkups, breakups, marriage and pregnancy are a few hot topics of the Tinseltown apart from the films. Celebrity life is not an easy sail. Though you get so much love from the audience, you have your own fan base, and wealth, but this field comes with its own share of cons. And one amongst the others is the fact that your personal life becomes a hot topic for everyone. Such was the case in 2014 when Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were dating each other.
Things were not fine between the two at the time and they broke off on a bitter note, but today, in 2019, everything seems to be sorted and they share a very cordial bond with each other. The two clearly believe in forgetting the past, enjoying present and building a good future. On and off, the two talk comfortably about each other and in some interviews, they even pull each other’s leg. Talking about the same, Katrina in an interview with Pinkvilla recently opened up about it and was quoted as saying, “He pulls everyone’s leg. It’s his personality that makes everyone feel comfortable. Everyone smiles around him. I’m not a silent lamb. I give it back when I have to.” Further, Katrina was told that Salman Khan doesn’t want her to call him bhaijan, which is a sobriquet that all his fans use. To this, pat came her reply, “Of course, he’s not my brother. He’s a friend but that’s also about the humour he is known for.”
In the same interaction, Katrina spoke about her professional relationship with Salman and retorted, “I remember the first film I did with Salman was Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and that was my third film as an actor. I was new and trying to find my feet. There were also a few days on Partner with Salman and Govinda who are the kings of improvisation. I was like, ‘Oh My Goodness’. You feel out of your depth there. So now, with Bharat, there is so much for me as a person. Salman was already Salman when we did our first film. For him, he doesn’t have the same feedback. When I came on Bharat, I came as a different person because the experience is the best teacher.” (Also Read: Chhavi Mittal Couldn't Hold Baby Arham In Arms When He Was Born, Pens Last Chapter Of Birth Story)
She also shared her views on the failure of her last release, Zero that had also starred, Shah Rukh Khan, “There’s definitely an acceptance or appreciation for Zero. The kind of feedback I got from my peers, the audience and the media, is special. It’s always lovely. You feel wonderful about it. With Bharat so far, the response has been really fantastic. Now, the big test is going to be the release. That’s judgment day. I’m looking forward to it but I’m nervous and excited. For me, these have come in peaks. There were some ups and some downs.”
She further added, “Namastey London was the first film I got really good reviews for. I was on a plane and Akshaye Khanna handed me a paper where the review had come and they said such sweet things about me. It was really nice of him. Over the years, there have been specific films that have been more reviewer friendly -like Raajneeti, New York and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Then, there are some films which are more about glamour and action friendly like Dhoom 3 and Bang Bang.” (Checkout: Barun Sobti And Pashmeen Manchanda To Welcome Their Baby In 2019, Baby Shower Pictures Inside)
On Karan Johar’s show, Koffee with Karan, way back in 2007, Katrina was probed by Karan to tell what her response would be if Salman Khan ever asked her to marry him. To this, she had then replied, “This is not a rapid fire. This is so unfair! This is complete cheating, I swear. Depends when he asks me.” On the other hand, in 2017, when Salman had a chat with Vogue, he had opened up about his first meeting with Katrina. Sallu bhai was then quoted as saying, “It was a small get-together. She had come home for a party and I thought she was one of the sweetest girls ever. She knew my sisters and all my friends, but she didn’t know me.”
Once in an interaction with The Times of India, Katrina was questioned if she dumped Salman over Ranbir, to which, the Jagga Jasoos actress had replied, “Who said that I ditched Salman? Salman, right? You know something? You guys in the media don't give a shit to stars' problems. You must, although I know you won't give a damn to what I am saying anyway.”
She had further gone on to share, “This guy, this Salman, has a very long history of relationships. Believe me, his list is longer than Aamir's. Salman, yes Salman, wanted me to copy all his previous girlfriends. Although I am four inches taller than him anyway, he asked me to wear stilettos and look as tall as Sangeeta Bijlani all the time. After that, he instructed me, yes instructed me, to start playing women's cricket.” (Do Check: Mahhi Vij Flaunts Her Baby Bump At Kanchi Kaul's Birthday Bash, Her Pregnancy Glow Radiates Royalty)
And had also shared, “He brought a new girl to my house. She was wearing a batsman's pads, stilettos, grey contact lenses, holding a glass of port wine in one hand and an onion in the other while speaking in a horribly fake Romanian accent. He told me that he had decided to move on. But since he had shared a few happy memories with me, he had asked her to copy my smile, walk like me, and also learn my accent which nobody apart from me has.”
All fans love the way Salman and Katrina bond with each, right guys?
