Keerthy Suresh revealed the reason behind wearing the eye-catching sacred thread, which was to promote 'Baby John'.
Keerthy Suresh got married to her longtime boyfriend since her school time, Antony Thattil, on December 12, 2024. Ever since then, the actress has been promoting Baby John. The actress did receive great reviews for her screen presence opposite Varun Dhawan. However, fans noticed that when she attended promotional events, Keerthy had worn a yellow thread around her neck, instead of her wedding mangalsutra for all these public appearances.
During a recent interview with Galatta India, Keerthy explained why she wore a yellow thread after her wedding. She said she had to wear the thread for a specific period and was happy to show it off during public outings. Keerthy said:
"There's a reason behind why I am wearing it to every promotion, because we are not supposed to remove the sacred thread. You are not supposed to remove it until a certain date, so basically, you change it to a gold chain after a few days. I think if you had an auspicious date in a week or 10 days, I would have changed to the gold chain. But I don't think we found an auspicious date and the date is towards the end of January."
Keerthy also spoke about the importance of wearing the sacred thread until the end of January 2024. Someone had even told her if she did not want to wear the same with her promotional clothes. Keerthy explained why the sacred thread is tied at a particular place because it should not touch her chest. For her, the chain is sacred and also supposed to be very powerful. Once it is changed to the golden chain, it is going to look normal.
The couple had a fairytale wedding in front of their friends and family on December 12, 2024. The wedding took place in Goa, and the dreamy pictures shared by the couple screamed about their wedding goals. Keerthy and Antony dated for 15 years and had exchanged wedding vows in a traditional ceremony that was attended by their close ones. For her special day, Keerthy looked resplendent in an all-south silk attire. Her wedding saree was of yellow-green colour with gold detailing. She wore Jadau jewellery reportedly and looked stunning. Antony wore a veshti teamed up with bandhgala in gold and cream.
Antony is an entrepreneur who switches between Dubai and his native land, Kochi. He reportedly owns Asperos Window Solutions, which is in partnership with Kaipalath Habeeb Farooque, registered in Chennai. He also manages many resorts and has a calm and composed personality. When they fell in love, Keerthy was in secondary school, and Antony was completing his undergraduate education at a college in Kochi. After 15 years, it turned into a tale of happily ever after.
Talking about Keerthy, she has done movies in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. She is the daughter of top film producer G. Suresh Kumar and actress, Menaka.
