Late actress, Sridevi Kapoor's youngest daughter, Khushi Kapoor bared her heart out in front of the world and revealed how she had dealt with people, who made fun of her for not looking like her mom!
We live in a world full of insecure people, who often try to put other people down by giving harsh comments that they later term it as 'fun'. We all have met these people while growing up and felt bad hearing their expert comments. Sometimes, these people were nosy aunties, who would always talk about your weight gain, 'bahut healthy lag rahe ho, exercise kiya karo ' or the uncles, who would talk about your 'height thuri kam rahe gayi' issue. These people had unknowingly affected our growing up years and they never thought twice before passing their judgements. And an exactly similar kind of negativity was thrown at the late legendary actress, Sridevi Kapoor's younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor. We all know Janhvi Kapoor, who has followed her late mother's footsteps and has entered the filmy duniya. However, not many know about the struggles of her sister, Khushi Kapoor and how she had faced hate for not looking like her mother, Sridevi Kapoor or elder sister, Janhvi Kapoor. Over the years, Khushi has come out as a simple and shy fashionista, who knows what she is talking about the moment camera is rolled. But there are only a few, who know that she had faced a lot of criticism at a very young age. Scroll down as she bares her heart out!
A few days ago, Janhvi Kapoor had shared her 'quarantine tape', wherein she had rambled about the lockdown and had shared a montage of beautiful pictures. And now, her sister, Khushi has featured in her very own 'quarantine tape', wherein she gives an insight into who she is as a person. Calling herself a 'normal 19-year-old girl', Khushi said, "I don’t think I’m the person I want to be yet but I definitely think I’m growing. It’s so rewarding to see people show so much appreciation towards me when I have not even done anything to deserve it yet. I have the power to make someone else happy, it just makes this all the more worth it."
Khushi further bared her heart out and shared that how people used to make fun of her for not looking like her star mom, Sridevi or sister, Janhvi. The star kid said, "People still s**t on me. I’m kind of shy and awkward. Obviously, sometimes, the hate gets to you, especially being so young. I just want people to know I am a real person. I didn’t really know how to handle it, so my self-esteem issues and insecurities stem from that. As a child, it affected the way I saw my parents. I didn’t look like my mom and I didn’t look like my sister, so sometimes, people would point that out and make fun of me. I wasn’t the healthiest about it at some point and it affected the way I would eat and the way I would dress." For those who don't know, when Khushi Kapoor was just 16-year-old, she had faced a lot of trolls body-shaming her. But the youngest Kapoor diva made sure to give a befitting reply to her haters. She had penned a long note and had proved that she is one strong girl and no one can mess with her. Her note could be read as "I post my pictures because I feel good and confident. I put out these pictures not because I want to show off or try to be anyone or anything else. I have my own sense of style and my own way to think and me putting out a picture that's accessible to so many people is taken more of an opportunity to judge me or my looks, clothes or anything else. I put something out there because it's something I feel good about, everyone is entitled to have their own opinion but putting someone else down because of it is not making you any better of a person."
In a throwback interview with the Mid-Day, Sridevi had talked about her daughter, Khushi's strong note and had said, "For me, they will always be kids. But they seem to have taken less after me and more after my bold screen image. Last year, when Khushi wrote a post about body shaming on Instagram, I was pleasantly surprised to see my kid turn into a strong, opinionated and sharp young woman."
