You may think it to be a good deed to celebrate the birthday of your child at an orphanage. It may look like a great approach to do goodwill as charity should always be done. It makes the world a better and a kinder place to survive. However, an influencer, parent, educator, and mother named, Ambika Agarwal feels that one should never celebrate your child's birthday at an orphanage. Ambika, who is known to make parenting videos, shared the reasons why your child's birthday should not be celebrated at an orphanage.
Ambika, recently made a reel video wherein, she revealed the reasons for not celebrating your child's birthday at the orphanage. She revealed in her caption that psychological research indicated that such repeated exposure heightens feelings of exclusion and injustice, leading to deep-seated resentment and bitterness over time. This prolonged sense of deprivation has been linked to increased emotional distress, hostility, and a diminished ability to form positive social bonds. It might seem like a great way to teach your kids gratitude and kindness. But let's flip the coin to see the truth. Her reel post further read:
"While your child is cutting the cake, feeling loved and hugging you, the child at the orphanage is realising they have no one to hug. While your child is celebrating their family, the child at the orphanage is reminded they don't have one. Do you see it? This is not kindness is actually a reminder of what they lack! When children are reminded of what they don't have it doesn't inspire them instead fills them with bitterness, anger and hatred."
When netizens saw the video of Ambika talking about why kids' birthdays should not be celebrated at orphanages, they had mixed views. A user who shared the clip said that when the user went to an orphanage, gifts, new clothes, and fruits were taken, and the kids were so happy to get all those things. The kids were so excited to eat the cake, and the netizen shared it's better to give them that happiness than not to go there at all.
A part of the comment read, "I know now you' ll argue that if you want to donate go there just like that without it being a birthday celebration.. what are your thoughts?? Even if you think I am wrong, please be polite. I want to know how it is perceived because I have always seen happiness in the kids if you don't agree with me, then just let me know but let's be civil." Well, another user also felt that Ambika was not wrong as most orphanages and homes also say this. Instead donate money regularly so that the orphanages can celebrate the birthday of the kids there instead. If one wants to give them happiness in a profound manner celebrate their birthday and not your birthday simple!
