Kim Kardashian is popular for going overboard with everything. Here are three jewellery pieces belonging to some of the most iconic women of all time that Kim overpaid for.
Kim Kardashian has emerged as one of the biggest names in the global entertainment industry. She gained recognition for her various endeavours and identifies herself as ‘a mother, millionaire, law student and a billionaire’. Kim has tried her hands at entrepreneurship with her businesses, such as Skims, Skin, and Skky Partners. She has also acted in projects including Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor, American Horror Story: Delicate, and Disaster Movie, among others.
As per Celebrity Net Worth, Kim Kardashian is the owner of USD 1.7 billion worth of wealth. Given her humongous wealth, one can only expect her to be the connoisseur of the most expensive things. While there is no doubt that Kim possesses exorbitant pieces of jewellery, she also is the owner of some historically significant jewellery belonging to three iconic women of all time.

Kim Kardashian acquired one of Princess Diana's favourite jewellery pieces, the ‘Attallah Cross’ last year. The piece was sold at Sotheby's London's Royal and Noble auction for USD 197,453, which is Rs. 1,63,63,394 upon conversion. Previously, it was estimated to be sold at USD 120,000. The pendant was first created around the 1920s by the official Crown Jeweller, Garrard.
The cross pendant features floral designs that are further accentuated by square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds. Princess Diana was seen wearing the bejewelled cross in October 1987. She paired the invaluable jewellery with a Catherine Walker dress to a charity gala in support of Birthright, a charitable organisation working towards the protection of human rights during pregnancy and childbirth.
Former American President, John F. Kennedy’s wife, Jackie Kennedy, always used to pair her outfits with a Cartier Tank watch. The same timepiece is now in the possession of the Skims founder, Kim. The gold watch with a black band was auctioned off at Christie's in New York City in 2017, where it was expected to sell for a maximum of USD 120,000. However, the billionaire ended up going overboard and purchased the timepiece anonymously for a whopping USD 379,500, which is Rs. 3,14,50,056.

The watch is not an extravagant piece and doesn't even feature any expensive diamonds or jewels on it. The Cartier tank watch is a simple piece with an old-fashioned face and a black band; both rimmed in 18-karat gold. Jackie's watch was originally made in 1962 and given to her by her brother-in-law, Prince Stanislaw 'Stas' Radziwil, in February 1963, just nine months before her husband, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated. The watch has an engraving that says, 'Stas to Jackie, 23 Feb. 1963. 2.05 am to 9.35 am.'
Kim Kardashian purchased three jade and diamond bracelets that originally belonged to the iconic British-American actress, Elizabeth Taylor. She bought the bracelets for approximately USD 65,000, which is Rs. 53,86,702 upon conversion. The bracelets were first made by the renowned jewellery designer, Lorraine Schwartz and were put up for auction in 2011 by Christie's, along with several other pieces from Elizabeth Taylor's collection. The entire collection was estimated to be worth around USD 116 million.
The bracelets were sold for much more than their estimated price of USD 8,000, as Kim K decided to pay USD 64,900 for them in total. Schwartz, who bought the bracelets for the Skims founder, revealed that Taylor used to wear these white, black, and lavender bangles almost every day. Instead of buying directly from the showroom, Kim chose to purchase from Taylor's collection because she has always been an ardent admirer of the Hollywood icon.
