It might seem like celebrities, in no time, get rid of their post-pregnancy weight and flaunt their perfectly toned bodies just after giving birth to their child. But just how no two persons look exactly the same, not even identical twins are 100% alike, we should not expect everyone’s body to behave in a similar way. It’s high time everyone on this planet understands that body shaming is a complete no, even if the target is a celebrity. Sitting behind the screens and targeting celebrities with mean comments of judgement and unnecessary remarks is plaguing society. Time and again, celebrities have come out in the open to share their experiences with body-shaming and how they had dealt with it. (Also Read: Kim Kardashian And Kanye West's Divorce Papers Reveal The Real Reason Behind Ending Their Marriage)

Reality television star, Kim Kardashian had dated Kayne West for a year before the couple embraced parenthood with the arrival of their first child, North "Nori" West in June 2013. A year after the birth of North, Kim and Kayne had exchanged wedding vows on May 24, 2014, in a ceremony at a Renaissance fortress in Florence, Italy. The now-estranged couple had welcomed their second child, Saint West in December 2015 and the next two kids, Chicago West and Psalm West via surrogacy in 2018 and 2019 respectively. When Kim was pregnant with her first child, North, she was ruthlessly trolled by the tabloids and media for her weight gain and more than seven-years-later, she now opens up on her feelings about the same.

In a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram story, Kim Kardashian called out tabloids for publishing offensive stories about her when she was pregnant with her first child, North "Nori" West. Kim also spoke about how she was compared to Prince Williams’ then-pregnant wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Staring with how she decided to address her body-shaming experience, Kim wrote, “So, I finally watched the Britney Spears documentary this week and it made me feel a lot of empathy for her. The way the media played a big role in her life the way it did can be very traumatizing and it can really break even the strongest person. No matter how public someone’s life may seem, no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty or judgement for entertainment.” She continued, “Looking back at my own experiences, I remember a time when I felt this way.”

Revealing her experience with body shaming during her pregnancy in 2013 and how she had cried every single day over it, Kim Kardashian added, “When I was pregnant with North, I was suffering from preeclampsia, which made me swell uncontrollably. I gained 60 lbs and delivered almost 6 weeks early and I cried every single day over what was happening to my body, mainly from the pressures of being constantly compared to what society considered a healthy person should look like – as well as being compared to Shamu the Whale by the media. Looking at all of the photos of myself online and in magazines made me so insecure and I had this fear of wondering if I would ever get my pre baby body back. I was shamed on a weekly basis with cover stories that made my insecurities so painful I couldn’t leave the house for months after. It really broke me.” (Also Read: Kim Kardashian's Estranged Hubby, Kanye West Spotted Wearing Wedding Ring Amidst Their Divorce Case)

Revealing why she decided to speak her heart out on this and how she channelled the embarrassing feelings into motivation, Kim Kardashian continued, “Luckily I was able to take these frustrating, embarrassing feelings and channel into motivation to get me where I am today, but to say this didn’t take a toll on me mentally would be a lie. I’m sharing this just to say I really hope everyone involved in the business of shaming and bullying someone to the point of breaking them down might reconsider and instead try to show some understanding and compassion. You just never fully know what someone is going through behind the scenes and I’ve learned through my own experiences that it’s always better to lead with kindness.”

Kim Kardashian concluded her note with “Here’s just a few of the covers to remember what was supposed to be one of the happiest times in my life… my pregnancy” and posted an array of screenshots of the magazine covers and news headlines. While many have the word “Fat” emblazoned across Kim’s paparazzi photos, in some, she was compared to Kate Middleton’s pregnancy physique. (Also Read: 'High School Musical' Fame, Ashley Tisdale Is Nine-Months Pregnant, Flaunts Her Baby Bump)
