Kim Sae-Ron's American husband finally reacted to the late actress' pregnancy claims and that she was threatened to get married.
Kim Sae-Ron's death has sparked a lot of murmurs and gossip in the South Korean film industry, especially her die-hard fans. At the mere age of 24, Kim ended her life and was found dead in her home. From Kim's past affair to her pregnancy and alleged forced marriage to her American boyfriend, the controversy continues. Now, her American 'husband', whose identity has not yet been revealed, reacted to all the allegations against him.
The way Kim Sae-Ron ended her life, a lot of conspiracy theories were made. It was claimed that she committed suicide because of her abusive husband. On March 25, 2025, her husband spoke out through the Garo Sero Research Institute. In his statement, he mentioned that he met Sae-Ron in mid-to-late November 2024. They had a strong attraction towards each other within a short period of time. Within a few months of being together, they decided to get married in the USA on January 12, 2025.
However, soon, they decided to void their marriage. Kim Sae-Ron's husband clearly stated that they made the decision on mutual terms since they married too quickly, were in a long-distance relationship, and had different personalities. His statement can be read as:
"I was just living life as I did, an ordinary person, when I met Kim Sae Ron around mid-to-late November 2024, thanks to an introduction from an acquaintance. Thanks to having strong attraction to each other despite the short time, we got married legally in America, where I live, on January 12, 2025, with only witnesses present. Later, we decided to void the marriage upon agreement from both parties, due to the fact that we got married too quickly without serious consideration out of having fallen in love, as well as due to practical problems of a long-distance relationship, and differences in personalities."
Kim Sae-Ron's husband further revealed that the late actress was never pregnant. He stated that they were not thinking about having children, and she was on birth control pills. He continued that he never threatened her to marry her due to pregnancy. He continued:
"Also, we were not thinking about children, so Kim Sae Ron was taking birth control pills. It is a severe form of humiliation of the late Kim Sae Ron to claim that she was threatened into marriage due to pregnancy, etc. Who gets married due to threats?"
Kim Sae-Ron's husband further addressed the abuse claims made by Lee Jin ho, and insisted that no such thing ever happened. He stated that he lives in a quiet US apartment complex, and if any such thing had happened, it would have been reported by neighbours. He said:
"The house I am currently residing in, in America, is a quiet apartment complex with very weak soundproofing. It is built such that if assault had taken place, the floor below would immediately make a report. In addition, assault in America results in strong legal responsibility. I am someone who has received a thorough upbringing in America."
