Kim Soo Hyun, in a press conference teared up by stating that he never dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Now, the actress' heartbreaking text to the actor when she was a minor went viral.
Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun's relationship controversy has taken up all the headlines. For the unversed, Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 24. Since then, the controversy has been ongoing. It was Kim Sae Ron's aunt who alleged that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the actress when she was a minor, and this incident has spread out like wildfire.
Recently, Kim Soo Hyun denied all the allegations by hosting a press conference. And post this, Garo Sero's YouTube channel released some screenshots, which claimed something otherwise. After Kim Soo Hyun's press conference, Garo Sero YouTube channel, shared some screenshots, that allegedly contained the actress' texts to Kim Soo Hyun. Reportedly, the text was from April 13, 2018, when Sae Ron was less than 20 years old, which is considered to be the legal age of adulthood in South Korea.
As per the screenshot, Sae Ron told Soo Hyun that he only texted her when he needed her by his side, and whenever she needed him, he would go MIA. Sae Ron, in the text, allegedly wrote that it bothered her way too much and she felt it to be inconvenient. She further added that if Soo Hyun didn't put in effort, then she wouldn't see him anymore. Sharing the screenshots, Garo Sero questioned what would be the point of such texts if Soo Hyun was not dating Sae Ron. Sae Ron allegedly wrote in the text:
"Oppa, when you miss me and need me, you keep in touch with me without a problem, but when I need you, you’re always MIA. It bothers me that I can’t get in contact with you, and it’s inconvenient. If you don’t put in the effort, then I’m not seeing you anymore."
Kim Soo Hyun, in the press conference, broke down in tears while talking about the allegations that were made against him. He revealed that he dated Sae Ron but not as a minor. Soo Hyun stated that he and Sae Ron were in a relationship for a year but he couldn't accept the same back then, from the perspective of a lead actor and for their show, Queen of Tears.
Soo Hyun further shared how he was threatened and humiliated, and people even said that several photos of him would be uploaded, which left a toll on him. He also denied the allegations that his agency, Gold Medalist had pressurised Sae Ron about paying her debt back, which was alleged to have pushed her to commit suicide.
As per reports, the journalists were asked not to question Soo Hyun, but one of the female journalists did exactly the opposite and asked the actor about where he met the actress for the first time. Soo Hyun left everyone surprised as he dodged the question, and walked off the stage with tears in his eyes. This act has brought him a whole lot of criticism and people tagged his act of crying as 'crocodile tears'.
