Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao opened up about how their bond has changed over the years.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Kiran Rao opened up about wanting to branch out her production house, Kindling Pictures. She shared her desire to work with other producers and other studios as that will help them understand the capabilities of their own production house. Kiran further emphasised how different houses would benefit from the creative outcomes and provide fresh content. Sharing this, she said:
"I also feel it is important for Kindling to branch out and work with other producers and other studios. Because I feel it is important for us to test our wings. Honestly, I feel different kinds of energy have fresh results. So, I do want to try to work with other studios as well."

Aamir Khan took a jab at his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, after hearing about her desire to work with other production houses. The duo shares a cordial bond and are often seen poking fun at each other. The Dangal actor replied to Kiran's desire, satirically stating that only outside studios will prove their real value. He shared:
"When outside studio will come to know our real value. Ghar ki murgi main hu bhai."
In the past, Kiran Rao shared that she hoped that her film, Laapataa Ladies would be sent for an Oscar nomination as India's entry. Talking about the subject, Kiran shared that it would be a dream come true for her, but she understands that it is a process. She stated that:
"My dream would be fulfilled if it was, if it would go (to Oscars). But it’s a process, and I’m hoping it’ll (Laapataa Ladies) be considered. I’m sure the best film will go, whoever they choose in the scheme of things."
Laapataa Ladies was released in theatres on March 1, 2024, and soon premiered on Netflix. The movie was immensely loved by the audience, and soon, social media began raving about the comedy-drama. With its remarkable old-love vibes and social message, several celebrities, including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Vijay Varma, and others, showed their appreciation for the film.
