Recently, Kriti Sanon opened up about her relatives' favouritism towards her and her sister, Nupur Sanon, after the former's Bollywood debut. Read on to learn more.
Kriti Sanon began her film journey in Bollywood with the action movie, Heropanti. Recently the actress revealed that her younger sister, Nupur Sanon and she experienced different behavior from their relatives after entering Bollywood.
In a talk with News 18, Kriti Sanon shared how relatives acted towards her and Nupur when she achieved success with Heropanti . She talked about feeling upset and frustrated. Kriti said even though the industry tried to create a rivalry between the sisters but it has not harmed their bond.
Though Kriti Sanon felt uneasy about the shift in how family members acted, she said it was sad to see favoritism appear. She said that their bond remains firm despite outside stress. She also wishes to encourage Nupur to stay concentrated and not let these events influence her career.
Kriti Sanon stated that when she started doing films in the industry, her sister, Nupur was very young, and she wasn't in Mumbai. At that time, she said she saw that there were some relatives of her who treated her and her sister differently. Kriti said this behavior angered her. In her words:
"That's when I saw certain relatives treating us differently and that angered me"
Kriti said that during family visits, she and Nupur received different treatment. This presents a sense of unfairness. Kriti saw that their birthdays used to come with unequal greetings. Sometimes, more attention to Nupur causes Kriti to feel overlooked. She told how relatives often show Nupur extra affection, which makes her upset. Kriti admitted that this unequal care caused her to wonder about her place in the family occasionally. In her words:
"They would wish me and Nupur differently on our birthdays. That's something I found immature."
Kriti said Nupur is very emotionally strong, even though she is her younger sibling. Nupur manages situations effectively. Kriti observed that Nupur keeps quiet even when something troubles her. The actress realized that Nupur reflects a lot but rarely reveals her weaknesses. Nupur remains calm when challenges occur and Kriti really respects that. In tough times, Nupur's strength becomes clear, providing strong support to the family. She said:
"Even if something hurts or bothers her, she never lets it come to her face."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kriti Sanon is all set to debut as a producer in the upcoming film, Do Patti , directed by Shashank Chaturvedi. This film also stars Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, Shaheer Sheikh. Kriti Sanon plays a double role in this movie which will be released on OTT from October 25, 2024, onwards.
