The news of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's death had shaken the entire nation on June 14, 2020. While his fans and every Bollywood buff are yet to come to terms with the fact that he is no more, it is unacceptable because his demise was a huge loss to the entertainment industry. However, the past year has been difficult for a lot of people, who were very much close to him and one such person is actress, Kriti Sanon.
It was while shooting for their movie, Raabta that rumours of Kriti Sanon and Sushant Singh Rajput's affair were rife in the media. Last year when Sushant had left for his heavenly abode, Kriti Sanon had taken to her IG handle to share a cryptic post, a month after his death. The post could be read as "And in between a guilty laughter that pretended to move on, Her eyes shed tears of reality and broke all her delusions."

In an interview with PTI, the Luka Chuppi actress, Kriti Sanon shared how the past year had been for her after Sushant Singh Rajput's death. As she had mourned the late actor's death, people were quick to dissect her equation with Sushant Singh Rajput and that has caused a lot of chaos. Talking about the same, she said, "It was difficult to mute the noise. But I had my people and family around me that always kind of helps. Last year, social media was the worst thing that had happened to us. it opened up so much chatter and noise."
While talking about detaching herself from social media when people had started linking her with Sushant Singh Rajput yet again, Kriti said that she had kept quiet because there were already a lot of people saying a lot of things and she did not want to share her feelings with the world. She explained, "I, anyway, felt too many people were saying too many things. I did not want to be a part of that noise. I felt a lot of things were also going unfair. So I didn't want to be a participant in that. what I had to say were extremely personal things that I was sharing with my loved ones and didn't need to share with the world."

On June 16, 2020, two days after her Raabta co-star's death, Kriti had taken to her IG handle to pen an emotional note for Sushant Singh Rajput. She had written, "Sush.. I knew that your brilliant mind was your best friend and your worst enemy.. but it has broken me completely to know that you had a moment in your life where Dying felt easier or better than Living. I so wish you had people around you to get you past THAT moment, I wish you hadn’t pushed the ones who loved you away.."
Kriti Sanon had further mentioned about the regret of not having fixed the things that had broken Sushant from inside. She had added, "I wish I could have fixed that something which was broken inside you..I couldn’t.. I wish so so many things.... A part of my heart has gone with you.. and a part will always keep you alive.. Never stopped praying for your happiness and never will.."
