During their stint in the latest season of 'Koffee With Karan', Ranveer Singh revealed that it was way beyond his resources to purchase an engagement ring for his wifey, Deepika Padukone.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been grabbing all the spotlight recently, ever since they made a joint appearance in the chat show, Koffee With Karan 8. The duo, who are hailed no less than a power couple twinned in black as they graced the couch, and spilled some drool-worthy anecdotes from their personal life, marriage and dating years. In fact, it was during the show when for the first time ever, the duo’s magical wedding video was aired. For the unversed, Deepika and Ranveer had tied the knot in October 2018, in a highly guarded wedding ceremony against the picturesque background of Lake Como in Italy.
Amidst the various revelations which Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh made on the couch of Koffee With Karan, the latter revealed a startling detail about his engagement with his wifey. For the unversed, Ranveer had mentioned proposing to his ladylove back in 2015, which they kept a secret for three years. Speaking about the same, Ranveer mentioned how it was way beyond his resources at that time to procure an engagement ring for Deepika. Moreover, he proudly added that he was finally able to purchase an impressive one nevertheless. In his words:
“Yes sir, beyond my resources at the time, perhaps, but even so a very impressive one.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Ranveer then spilt beans on the exact timeline of his proposal to his ladylove, Deepika Padukone. He revealed that right after wrapping up the shoot of the film, Ram Leela, the duo went on a small holiday to the Maldives. The actor mentioned being sure that Deepika was the one in his life, and added that he didn’t want to waste any more time, apprehensive whether the latter would change her mind. Sharing how he proposed to her on the beach, Ranveer revealed:
“So Ram-Leela happened and we were in this. At one point, when I felt right I decided she was the one. So I thought before anything can happen just put a ring on it. I was in Cahoots with my sister and mom, acquiring the ring. We were going on a holiday and I decided that I'd propose to her on the holiday. I got the ring. And, my folks were like, Are you going to propose? You don't want to consult her parents? I didn't have that degree or maturity back then. I was like, No, I'm marrying her so I'll ask her. So we go to the Maldives and I secretly carry the ring with me and we do the sandbank adventure. And she said yes.”
During the same conversation, Deepika Padukone had recalled planning her entire beach wedding by Lake Como in Italy. She mentioned that although having an Indian wedding by the waters was notvan ideal proposition, nevertheless, it worked out well because people were very suited to the natural environment and especially the waters.

The highlight of the first episode of KWK 8 featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone was the mesmerising glimpse of their wedding video, which surfaced after 5 years of their marriage. Surely, the internet has been brimming with glimpses of the same, and it can be rightly said that their wedding was nothing less than a magical fairy tale.
