Bollywood actress, Sushmita Sen's brewing love with IPL founder, Lalit Modi has raised a lot of eyebrows and left the entire nation wondering. While Lalit Modi has shared a couple of pictures and confirmed that they are dating, the actress has kept mum and has not yet confirmed the news. Now, Lalit Modi's son, Ruchir Modi opened up about his father's relationship status.
On July 14, 2022, Lalit posted a couple of mushy pictures and announced his new beginnings with the actress. After which, media reports started circulating that they had tied the knot. However, Lalit cleared in his long note that he has not yet married Sushmita, but one day they will. He had written:
"Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families - not to mention my #better looking partner @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon. n love does not mean marriage YET. BUT ONE THAT BY GODS GRACE WILL HAPPEN. I JUST ANNOUNCED THAT WE ARE TOGETHER."

Recently, in an interview with ETimes, Lalit Modi's son, Ruchir Modi talked about his father's relationship. At first, he refused to comment on the family's personal matters. He shared that it is their family policy not to give statements about someone's personal life choices. He said:
"I prefer to refrain from commenting on personal family affairs but would always be happy to comment in relation to business or other matters. I prefer not to comment at all, to be very honest, as we don’t comment on personal matters as a family policy."
For those who don't know, Lalit Modi was earlier married to Minal Modi. After living happily ever after with their two children, Aliya Modi and Ruchir Modi, Minal Modi passed away in 2018. She had battled cancer, which had relapsed ten times.
On December 10, 2018, Minal Modi had taken her last breath at the age of 64. Lalit Modi had penned a long note on Twitter for his wife, Minal. He had written:
"My love, my life, my soulmate...You are finally at peace, and I am sure you will be watching over us. I must continue as promised to you in ensuring our children are protected and nurtured and loved and I know you will always be there...But my love it will be tough. But you have taught us to be tough."
On the personal front, Lalit Modi's elder daughter, Aliya Modi got married in May 2022 in Venice. On the other hand, his son, Ruchir is single and lives with him!
