On May 22, 2022, Madhuri Dixit and her husband, Dr Shriram Nene stepped out for a lunch date at Bastian, Mumbai. For the outing, the actress opted for a white-coloured floral dress and styled it with a black jacket. The gorgeousness completed her look with a handbag and left her hair open. The celeb couple made heads turn as they posed for the paparazzi stationed outside. However, a video of the Kalank actress didn't go down well with netizens as it showed Madhuri ignoring a fan, who had sweetly asked her for a selfie, and said, "Ma'am, can I have one picture?" However, Madhuri avoided the fan and annoyingly said, 'aehhhh' as she walked towards her car and didn't wait for a picture.
Netizens flooded the post's comment section and slammed Madhuri for her rude behaviour. While a user wrote, "They don't know how they became fam still they know how they r fam then they will click 1 pic with their fans not like how Madhuri is doing she is so heartless guys", another one commented, "Aaaaaaaaa ye kya h selfie lene deti usko ik attitude ki dukaan nikli ye toh." One comment can be read as "Sometimes they forget how they actually became successful. An unfortunate prerequisite of audiences putting them on a pedestal, they actually begin to believe they are special." Meanwhile, another netizen commented, "Bahut ghamand hai. Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Madhuri Dixit had talked about how her stardom never affected her kids, Ryan and Arin, and had shared that her kids are very nonchalant about that. She had also revealed how her sons react when someone asks them who their mom is and had mentioned that they consider her as their mother and not an actress. She had concluded:
“My fame has never touched them and they are very nonchalant about it. Through friends they sometimes feel like, you know, they say ‘oh, who’s your mom? What’s her name?’ and if he says ‘my mom is my mom’ they say ‘oh, we know she is Madhuri Dixit and you’re so lucky to have her’. So he’s like, ‘Mom, you’re just my mom.' They are good people and that’s what I want them to be.”
