In an interview, Mahesh Bhatt heaped praises for his daughter, Alia Bhatt and revealed why she is not an extension of her parents.
The millennial star, Alia Bhatt has surpassed the fame of her star family with her out of the box roles and stellar performances. Born in a family, who has launched many new faces in the entertainment industry, it was quite obvious that Alia would follow the footsteps of her star celebrity parents. When Alia had made her debut with the film, Student of the Year, people had called her a product of nepotism, but it didn’t deter her spirits.
Alia shut everyone’s mouth with her stellar performances in movies like Highway, Raazi, Udta Punjab and Gully Boy and proved that she is here to stay and born to shine. Alia is now counted amongst one of the top-notched actresses of Bollywood and has only made her parents, Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, proud of her achievements. In 2019, Alia Bhatt became the highest-earning woman on the Forbes' Celebrity 100 list.

In an interview with Elle magazine, Mahesh Bhatt talked about Alia Bhatt's work and revealed how she is a fire of her own. Heaping praises on Alia, Mahesh said:
"She is not an extension of her parents. She is a fire of her own. Although I was a filmmaker, we always lived on the edge of the industry. Our home was not a hub for film parties. I made films to make a living, and these are the things that have gone into Alia’s consciousness. She works with a ferocity and focus, but she also has deep empathy."
Going further in the interview, Mahesh Bhatt also revealed how in just 2 years, Alia has made more money than he did in 50 years. Talking about the same, he stated:
"The world is full of spectators because it takes a lot of courage to be a performer. I have great respect for those who make films, take whatever comes their way, and then get up and start all over again. This is especially true for those who scale the dizzying heights of success when they’re so young. One minute Alia was the little girl who was putting cream on daddy’s feet for Rs. 500, and in two years she had made more money than I ever did in my 50 years as a filmmaker."

Alia shares a beautiful relationship with her daddy, Mahesh. On the occasion of Father's Day, the actress had shared a candid click of her father and had written a sweet note that could be read as "Papa kehte hain — Dont be perfect. Perfect is the enemy of very good Happy Fathers Day my Magic Man".
On the professional front, Alia's upcoming films are Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra!
