In a recent interview, Mahima Chaudhry opened up about Hina Khan and her battle with breast cancer and shared that she was the first person whom the TV actress called after her diagnosis.
Hina Khan is currently battling against breast cancer and showing all signs of beating the life-threatening disease. However, she faced a significant challenge amidst her fight against cancer. At the beginning of September 2024, Hina shared that she was diagnosed with mucositis. Despite so many roadblocks in her way to recovery, Hina is still pumped up and continues to inspire cancer patients across the globe with her courage. From hitting the gym to dropping lovely pictures of herself on social media, Hina Khan is giving her all in her battle against breast cancer.
Just like Hina Khan, popular Bollywood actress, Mahima Chaudhry also had breast cancer back in 2021, and she was treated at a hospital in Mumbai. After fighting against breast cancer for over a year, she recovered from it and is currently working hard to make people aware of this disease. In a recent interview with India Today, Mahima Chaudhry opened up about television actress, Hina Khan and her ongoing battle with cancer.
In the interview, Mahima Chaudhry shared that not many people know this, but she was the first person whom Hina Khan contacted after her cancer diagnosis. Mahima admitted that she was touched by Hina's decision to contact her at such a crucial time for guidance. When Mahima was asked to reveal what she said to Hina, the former revealed that she was planning to go to the USA for her cancer treatment. She said:
"I was the first person Hina called after she was diagnosed with cancer. I felt touched that she remembered me at such a crucial time in her life. She was considering going to America for her treatment, but I told her that we have everything available here in India and that she can be treat herself here."
Further, in the interview, Mahima Chaudhry explained the reason why she told Hina Khan to drop the idea of going to the US for her cancer treatment. The actress stated that India has highly skilled doctors and all the facilities and technology that are available in the US. Mahima also added that even in the US, most of the doctors are Indian. Not only this, Mahima also added she told Hina that if she decides to get treated in India, her family, friends, and loved ones will be around her to support her, which is way too crucial while recovering from cancer. She said:
"I convinced Hina to get treated here in India itself because let me tell you, that even in America, it's Indian doctors who will be treating her. At the end of the day, it's the same medicine, same doctors and the same treatment, and we have all of it now available in India. So why leave the country, the comfort of your family and friends and move someplace."
For the uninitiated, Hina Khan is currently in the stage three of breast cancer. From facing constant pain to undergoing chemotherapy, she is going through a lot but continues to inspire people with her courageous character. According to a report in ETimes, Hina Khan recently shared an update on her battle with mucositis and revealed that she is recovering from it and feeling a bit better.
