Mahima Chaudhry Sheds 'Happy Tears' While Talking About Her Breast Cancer, Says, 'I Feel Hopeful'

Mahima Chaudhry is one of the most prolific actresses in the Hindi film industry. The diva made her acting debut in the year 1997 with the movie, Pardes and left everyone in awe of her acting chops. Apart from that, Mahima was seen in several other movies, such as Daag, Dhadkan, Kurukshetra, and Baghban, among so many others. However, it was only in 2021, when Mahima revealed that she had been battling breast cancer. In a recent media interaction, the actress opened up about the same and got emotional while talking about her tough journey.

Mahima Chaudhry gets teary-eyed while talking about her breast cancer journey

On October 10, 2023, Mahima Chaudhry attended an event and while being there, the actress opened up on her journey of dealing with breast cancer. While talking to the audience, an emotional Mahima revealed that she was shedding happy tears. The diva stated that she just feels hopeful. Talking more about the same, Mahima shared that although she should do a self-examination every month, she doesn't do it. Further, at the event, the actress added that everyone must take some time out for themselves. Elaborating more on the same, Mahima shared:

"I just feel so hopeful. These are happy tears. I am so so happy that SBI started this because, to be frank, even now, I don't do self-examination every month. I should but I don't. I am happy that you have come up with this and I just want everyone to take themselves seriously, and make themselves feel important at least for 5 minutes in a month."

When Mahima Chaudhry talked about being diagnosed with breast cancer

It was back on June 9, 2022, when Mahima Chaudhry took to her IG handle and reposted a video of her, which was originally shared by Anupam Kher. Sharing the video, Mahima revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and mentioned that she had been treated for the same in the USA.

When Mahima Chaudhry talked about the challenging battle after being diagnosed with cancer

In one of her interviews with ETimes, Mahima talked about the challenging battle that she had to face after being diagnosed with cancer. Calling it a psychological battle, Mahima shared that she was diagnosed with cancer during a simple annual check-up at the end of 2021. The actress also mentioned that her treatment lasted for four months, and she had completed her treatment in Mumbai. Talking about the same, Mahima mentioned that although she recovered completely, it was a difficult journey for her.

It was after Mahima Chaudhry dropped the video and revealed that she was diagnosed, that she posted an adorable photo with Sonali Bendre. Sharing the photo, she shared that post she announced the news of her cancer diagnosis; it was Sonali who gave her a long and warm call.

Mahima Chaudhry's personal life

For those who don't know, Mahima got married to a Kolkata-based architect, Bobby Mukherjee, on March 19, 2006. In 2007, Mahima embraced motherhood and gave birth to a baby girl whom she named Aryana. However, after some years of her marital life, Mahima and her husband started facing troubles in their marital life, which finally resulted in a divorce.
