Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan has risen to prominence in showbiz. She has repeatedly voiced her concerns and points of view regarding significant issues happening around the world. Recently, she took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to share her thoughts on the ongoing fiasco related to the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton. The British royal has been missing from the public eye since December.
Kensington Palace informed the public about her abdominal surgery and mentioned that the princess would join her duties after Easter 2024. However, Kate’s absence led to people speculating about her whereabouts and overall health. Finally, on March 22, 2024, The Princess of Wales, in a heartbreaking video message, shared that she was diagnosed with cancer. Post which, celebrities from all across the world have poured their heartfelt prayers for her, and some have even apologised for partaking in the online trolling.

On March 22, 2024, Mahira Khan took to her X account to condemn the behaviour of ordinary people towards public personalities. The actress penned that life is similar for everyone, and it is sometimes painful and terrible. She said that people are mean and believe in their own conspiracy theories about celebrities when, in reality, they don’t even know what a person is going through. Her X post can be read as:
As soon as Mahira posted her thoughts on the social media platform, netizens started calling her a “hypocrite". Some replied to her post with one of her previous tweets from 2018, in which, Mahira had written, “Waisey.. awaaz aani chahiye laathi ki.” As per a report by the Times of Islamabad, the Pakistani actress posted her opinion after PML-N’s president and former Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif was sent on 10 days physical remand in 2018.

A while back, rumours circulated that Mahira Khan was expecting her first child with her husband, Salim Karim. For those who don’t know, Mahira was previously married to Ali Askari, and the now-estranged couple co-parent their only child, Azlan. Later on, Mahira cleared the air during an interaction on her digital platform, Mashion. In her words:
“Oh, that I am pregnant. It’s not weird, it’s just a rumour. I don't know where they came up with it, I think it's because I've put on weight, but then they also said that I've left the Netflix series and a major film and whatnot. So, yeah but it's not true.”
