The hearsay around Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora’s ‘not-so-alleged-anymore’ relationship had been gaining a lot of momentum over the past couple of months. After getting clicked together in public at the Lakme Fashion Week, the couple didn’t shy away from getting snapped at parties, vacations and lunch/dinner dates. Their fans have been eagerly waiting for a confirmation to put a name to their relationship status, but the couple has neither denied nor accepted their dating news and have been feeding people’s curiosity thus far. Sometime back, the news was abuzz that Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora will exchange wedding vows in April 2019. According to the gossip mills, Arjun and Malaika have decided on an intimate church wedding. In an interview with Anupama Chopra on Film Companion, Malaika finally cleared the air regarding the same. Reacting on her church wedding with Arjun, Malaika said, "Oh God! No No. It's all media made. Media is responsible for it.”
Speaking about giving love a second chance, Malaika Arora further added, "I guess everyone wants to move on and find love and companionship with people they can relate to. And if you do, I think you are just lucky. If you can do that, I think you are lucky to find that second chance at being happy.”
Malaika Arora also talked about her 19-year long marriage with Arbaaz Khan which ended in divorce and said that it was a huge step for her. She had stated, “Divorce is a huge step. It gave me freedom in the sense that I could make a choice that I stand by. Malaika Arora is glad that she took a decision for herself, irrespective what everyone around said to her. Malaika was quoted as saying, “Everyone wants to be in love again, to be in a relationship. Nobody wants to be alone and single for the rest of their life. Irrespective of what everyone said around me, I am glad that I made this choice on my own.”
On Kareena Kapoor Khan’s radio talk show, What Women Want, Malaika Arora spoke candidly about how her family supported her through the divorce and how she believes that a child should grow in a happy environment. Speaking about how their ‘unhappy’ relationship impacted everyone around them, Malaika Arora stated, “We were just two people in a situation where we were making each other extremely unhappy, which was impacting everyone else’s life around us.”
Revealing how her son, Arhaan reacted on his parents’ divorce, Malaika said that with time he has become far more accepting and flourishing. And he can also see the difference in his parents how happy they both look now. Malaika Arora recalled how her son, Arhaan told her once that "Mom, you look happy", a few months after their divorce. When asked for the best advice that she received upon arriving at the decision of ending her marriage, the Chaiyya Chaiyya star replied, “If this is the decision that you’re making, then we are really proud of you and in our eyes you are a really strong woman… this is what gave me the extra strength that I needed. If you are in an unhappy marriage and that’s what you decide to do you should do it with a lot of dignity, self-respect.
