Malika Dua says final goodbye to her mother by immersing her ashes. She took to her IG handle to share a heartfelt note for her mother. Details inside!
Comedian-turned-actor, Mallika Dua, who has entertained her fans through her Instagram handle is going through a very rough patch in her life. Mallika had lost her mother, radiologist, Padmavati Dua, who was also known as 'Chinna'. Chinna, who was married to journalist Vinod Dua had succumbed to COVID-19 complications, and had breathed her last on June 11, 2021.

Just like any other mother-daughter duo, Mallika was also very close to her mother, Chinna Dua and was left heartbroken. She had shared a post on her Instagram handle to break the news amongst her followers. While the news of her mother's demise had made everyone sad, the doting daughter had thanked her mother for choosing Mallika as a daughter. She had captioned the post as, "Love of my life. My first and greatest love. Thank you for choosing me."
A few hours ago, Mallika Dua took to her IG handle to share a heartbreaking note for her mother, Padmavati Dua. Along with the note, she had shared a picture of her family in which they can be seen performing the ritual of immersing the ashes. Mallika bid farewell to her mother and wished that she is happy with her paati. She wrote, "Bye my Chinna. My sweet girl. My first and greatest love. The weather was just perfect. You sent the best breeze, it was green, the sun was there but warm and lovely. It’s where I picture you are right now. With paati. She is making you filter coffee and muruku and you are chilling. In a really beautiful place and very very happy."
At the same time, Mallika also shared that just like her mother, she would also live happily and promised her mother to live a life of love and integrity. The doting daughter added, "That’s how I will live too. Just like you. With courage, grace, boundless kindness and above all, joy. I promise to love myself no less than you love me, I promise to help everyone I can and I promise to be happy because how dare I dishonour your legacy. My mama is god. And god is always looking out for me. I promise I will live a good life with integrity and love. Promise my mama."

On Mother's Day 2021, Mallika had shared a picture from her childhood which she was holding in front of her mother when she was COVID positive. Along with the picture, Mallika had wished her mother and had prayed for her speedy recovery. She had written, "Happy Mother's Day my cute girl @chinnadua, please get well soon? The monkeys in the balcony are waiting for you. Plus I really miss throwing tantrums."
Mallika's father, Vinod Dua is a veteran journalist. He too had tested positive for COVID and was even hospitalised. He is now recovering from post-COVID complications. Both Vinod and Chinna Dua were admitted to Gurgaon's Medanta Hospital on May 14.
