On September 7, 2020, Malayalam megastar, Mammootty's son and actor, Dulquer Salmaan took to his Instagram handle and shared an adorable picture with his father on his birthday. In the picture, we can see Dulquer giving a peck of love to his dad, who is seen smiling with his eyes closed. Along with this adorable picture, Dulquer wrote an emotional note for his father in which he called him 'the most disciplined man' and the one who always calms him. His note can be read as "Mine ! Happiest birthday to my Vappichi ! The wisest and most disciplined man I know. To the one person, I can turn to for anything. And the one who always calms me by just listening. You are my peace and my zen. And every day I strive to live up to your incredible standards. It has been the greatest blessing to get this time with you. For all of us. Last year, in an interview with the IANS, Dulquer Salmaan had talked about his father, and now he had pushed him to take risks in his career. He had explained, "My father always encourages me to take risks. Right from my initial days, he told me that my food, lf I don't take risks, if I don't experiment, who will? Dad always says that unless you make mistakes, you cannot build your character as an individual, and grow as an artist." Going further in his interview, Dulquer had also called his father 'stubborn' and had also revealed that his father never spoon-fed him right from the beginning of his childhood to this very day. Dulquer had said, "If one film fails, I do not have to sleep on the road, right? So, then why should I not take calculated risks? My father is very stubborn. He does not believe in spoon-feeding me in the film business. I am constantly learning, and I think dad is happy with the fact that I am doing everything by myself."
On August 16, 2020, legendary actor had posted some pictures from his workout from home on his Instagram, and the whole internet had gone crazy seeing his amazing fitness even at the age of 69. After which, in an interview with The Quint, when his son, Dulquer, was asked about his reaction to his father's workout pictures, he had said, "Actually when he clicked that picture, he showed it to us, and for a second we were like 'OMG you look so good'. He is consistently training and has always been good about his fitness, gym and diet. My mom, wife, sister, all the family members were surprised how good he looked, and we thought he should post it. But we didn't know it would create a storm and everybody, across the industry, reached out to him. It was great to see him being loved so much even for a picture, and it was more like a film release."
