Mandira Bedi had met her late husband, Raj Kaushal in 1996. While he was working as a Chief Assistant and was auditioning for the show called Philips 10, Mandira was a popular name because of her show, Shanti and film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Raj had noticed Mandira for the first time when she had shown for the audition and that had started their love story.
After dating for three years, Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal had tied the knot in February 1999. It was 12 years after their marriage, they had welcomed their first child. The duo was blessed with a baby boy, whom they have named Vir Kaushal. Nine years after his birth, Mandira and Raj had adopted a baby girl, Tara Bedi Kaushal, completing their family. Mandira's family of four was enjoying their life together, but as they say ‘Nazar Lag gayi’ and with Raj’s death on June 29, 2021, their happy family faced the biggest setback.
Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal had known each other for 25 years and still, the spark between them was the same. Raj had always made Mandira feel special. On April 15, 2021, when Mandira had turned a year older, Raj had wished his quintessential wife and had wondered how lucky he is to have her. He had shared a picture of Mandira and had written, “Wishing my quintessential Superwoman a very happy birthday. How lucky am I.” The couple also had an in-house zoom call birthday party.
A few days before Mandira’s last birthday with Raj, he had also cherished his wife’s old clip from the year 1999. It had appeared that Raj was totally bowled by Mandira’s beauty and thus, posted her throwback video.
Raj and Mandira were fond of travelling and their IG handles are proof of the same. Raj had once shared a picture with Mandira from a beach house, calling the actress to be his life. He had written, “With my life at the beach house.” Being Yin and Yang to each other to being each other’s drinking partner, Mandira and Raj were a perfect match for each other. Can’t believe it’s 20 years together.” 12 years after their wedding, Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal were blessed with a baby boy on June 19, 2011. The star parents were happy and their world revolved around their son, Vir Kaushal. On Father’s Day 2020, Raj’s son, Vir had made a video montage for him, showcasing their beautiful bond. It almost had their journey of 9 years as a father and son, and reposting it, Raj had written, “My Father’s Day film made by my Sonshine @virkaushal Thank you @mandirabedi.” Raj’s journey with his son, Vir is an evident part of his IG handle. From wearing quirky t-shirts to customized caps, sharing throwback pictures to celebrating his son’s birth, Raj was indeed a great father. And it was on Dussehra 2020 when Mandira and Raj had adopted a baby girl, Tara Bedi Kaushal. The filmmaker and delighted second-time father, Raj had expressed his happiness and had shared, “On this festive occasion of Dussehra we would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family Tara Bedi Kaushal. Finally the family is complete #humdohamaredo.” From making weird faces to ensuring that his kids, Vir and Tara are smiling, Raj Kaushal’s life always revolved around his kids. Raj’s IG handle is filled with pictures and videos of his kids, Vir and Tara. Their vacations, their pool sessions, talking with his son about rain or taking them out for dinner, Raj was a super father. Mandira Bedi’s husband and Vir and Tara’s father, Raj Kaushal was indeed a person full of life, who left everyone too soon. Raj Kaushal breathed his last on June 29, 2021, and died due to a heart attack. Mandira, Vir and Tara’s life has changed forever, however, we are sure, Raj will be guiding them even from another world.
