Mandira Bedi Recalls How She Used To Feed Risotto To Son, Vir, Shares Glimpse Of Her Culinary Skills

Mandira Bedi is a fitness enthusiast and it seems like she is aging backward. At the age of 47, she is giving a tough competition to all the young actresses with her oh-so-perfect body. She has redefined the whole meaning of fitness by posting amazing pictures of herself on her social media handle. Mandira rose to fame with her phenomenal acting in the 90s serial, Shanti. She is also an accomplished fashion designer and a doting mother to her eight-year-old son, Vir Kaushal.

On May 11, 2020, Mandira gave glimpses of her quarantine diaries and shared a lovely video with her son, Vir Kaushal. In the video, Mandira was seen making risotto and told her son, Vir that during his childhood, all he wanted to eat was dal chawal and she convinced him to eat risotto by calling it Italian dal chaawal. Along with the video, Mandira wrote, “Had fun making pizza and risotto at home! Italian khichdi as Vir called it!”

Sometime back, Mandira Bedi had made headlines when she had opened up about her desire to become a mother for the second time by adoption. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Mandira had revealed her wish to be a mother again. She had stated that her husband, Raj wanted a sister of their son, Vir and they want to adopt a baby girl between the age group of two-and-a-half to four-years. She had also revealed that they have even decided a name for her – Tara. It has been two years since the couple has applied for adoption at CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority).

She had also shared how becoming a mother had given a new perspective to her life and had retorted, "Motherhood is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me. There is so much that I learn from my son. He speaks like a wise old man at times and tells me ‘Mumma… I just love the feeling of love'. When you experience parenthood, it makes you look at the other side as well. The unconditional love I feel for my son, I can only imagine what my parents feel for me. Mandira is married to filmmaker, Raj Kaushal and according to her, Raj is the best husband, who had supported her throughout her career. She had revealed that it was her husband, Raj who had helped her to face the struggles of her career. She had also revealed that Raj takes care of their son, Vir when she is out for her shoots. In an interview with SpotboyE, Mandira had talked about the way society had treated her when she had planned to delay her pregnancy due to her professional commitments. She had revealed, “Living in Indian society, as a woman you tend to face several stereotypes.”

She had also revealed how she was looked differently and was judged for her decision. Talking about how societal norms are stringent for married women, she had stated, “When I decided to delay my pregnancy due to work commitments, it was the most difficult decision I had to make. I was looked at differently, and people perceived me as a woman who is career-oriented. You would think that is a good trait to have, but our society thinks differently of a married woman.
